You are making the common mistake of thinking the Republicans are a real opposition party, rather than a faction of the majority party in different costumes.

You know, it’ll all be as God wishes it to be - and in the end - it’ll work out according to his plan, exactly as he always intended it to.

My objection was to the quality of the article -the poorly reasoned, muddled articulation of the idea. I don’t deny there’ll be tough times ahead - of course there will be. I just don’t put much stock in hyperbole.

I could not more agree. But, the question is, how do we correct this? Do we continue with the (charade) of using the primaries in the oft futile attempt to nominate a genuine conservative, then voting for the 'R', no matter who or what his/her beliefs really are, in the general election?

Or, do we as a collective group finally exclaim, 'enough is enough!' and refuse to vote for any candidate who is not a genuine conservative?

Myself, I am at the latter stage now. If the next Presidential election is between Obama and, let's say, Romney, I am leaving that part of my ballot blank. At this point in time there exist only a handful of people I donate money to or fully support -Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Randy Forbes are among that group.
Politicians such as Eric Cantor, Newt Gingrich et al can pound sand. Sure, they've the occasion lucid, insightful and intriguing message but more oft than not they are bold examples of the type who covets the power and (so-called) prestige of being a a national public figure.

I ask, is there but one conservative left in the senate? All i hear though are crickets chirping.

its that kind if thinking that got us zero.....enough conservatives didn't want Rudy nor Fred nor Romney that McCain won it thru default......

and we have the lovely Freak from MInn....did you know IIRC that about 400,000 people voted third party in that election for the senate?....probably all conservative or libertarian leaning people that spoiled our only chance to keep a 60 majority away from the rats....

I am sick to death of people that think not voting because they're "mad" or voting third party because they're "mad" and handing the election to leftists...

unite....confront.....be there when your country needs you......

Thank you for your sage advice, cherry. But, I will eat dirt and bathe in skunk urine for four years before I vote again for anyone who is not a genuine, bona fide conservative.
