After months of hearing Obama claim he wasn't going to ration anyones care, we can now chalk up another lie in his arsenal.

Singer didn't write this without Obama’s permission.

Why We Must Ration Health Care
. . . is nothing but a rationalization of the fact that you want to ration health care - it is an expression of the lust for power which is the defining characteristic of socialist apparatchiks.

We don't have to ration anything, but you despise any ability of the people to provide for themselves.

t will kill you, probably in the next year or two. A drug called Sutent slows the spread of the cancer and may give you an extra six months, but at a cost of $54,000. Is a few more months worth that much?

This sounds a lot like the pro-abortion argument back in the sixties. Then, it was "what if your wife were raped by a black man?" Today it's, "how will bearing a child affect your figure?" In this instance, today the figure is $54,000. Ten years from now it'll be a hundred bucks.

When you get too old and too sick, expect a visit from Obama’s Blueshirts in your hospital room...

You may check in, but you won’t check out!

If the patient has the $54k to spend to live another 6 months... great!
If the patient expects the taxpayers to foot the bill... forget it / drop dead!

Is it right to hold a gun to your neighbors head and expect them to pay for your medical problems?
What ever happened to (something along the lines of ) I will never live for the sake of another, nor ask another man to live for my sake?

Abolish Social Security.
Abolish Medicare / Medicaide.
Let the Free Market decide if a drug company will get away with selling a drug that cost $9k per month.

Will Singer be the first to volunteer to give up an extra sis months to save money?
I suggest he forego all health care in favor of a younger person with a bright future.

There was a time when penicillin was a rare and extremely expensive drug and if this type of "it's too costly" mentality were used then we would still be dying of minor infections. Under Obamacare there will be no incentive to produce the next generation of life saving drugs as penny pinching bureaucrats will determine that they are too costly to use and thus they never get developed.

I saw this same mentality in the 1970s when health planning organizations sought to limit CAT scan machines because of their cost. Had their numbers prevailed, CAT scan machines would be available only at a few major medical centers and millions of people would not have the advantage of early diagnosis of cancers when they are very treatable. My wife is alive today because a routine CAT scan looking for something else found a cancerous tumor on her kidney in time for it to be successfully removed before it spread. Had CAT scans not been available or had long lines of patients waiting for scans she would never have gotten that early diagnosis and would not be alive today.

The article says that some guy reports that 60% of all bankruptcies are caused by medical costs/debts. They do not give his ‘credentials’.

Here is a report on a study by a Professor at UC Davis, which states that bankruptcy causes it is pure and simple OVER SPENDING. You can access the actual research/report there, also.

If I can afford the $54,000, who has the right to tell me I may not spend my money that way?

So, money should be the trump factor in the decision to provide or withhold medical care. Health care decisions being made by bean counters.

Which is exactly the argument now being used against health insurance companies to justify their extinction.

And, by the way, when government becomes the only health care provider in the country, who do you suppose will be the people working deep in the bowels of the industry? In order to staff the health care industry, the government will need to recruit people who have experience working in the health care industry. Where do they find such employees?

Do you think that maybe all those nameless, faceless bean counters killing us today in the name of private health care cost cutting will become tomorrow’s newly hired government nameless, faceless bean counters killing us in the name of “lowering costs of health care?”

It's funny that the libs will never ration environmental controls in the same fashion. There is never enough spending for environmental controls and they will never, ever conduct a cost/benefit analysis on cleanup.

You will most certainly never hear them ponder in similar fashion "Do you still think the drug emissions control is a good value? Suppose the treatment control technology cost a million dollars. Would it be worth it then? Ten million? Is there any limit to how much you would want your insurer consumers to pay for a drug that adds six months to someone’s life control technology that removes an extra particle of soot from the air?

Actually health care should offer a certain level of coverage to everyone and if you want an enhanced level of care you should pay for it.

Just remember, “Government Health Care provides plenty of Shovel Ready Jobs”.

Just remember that is good for the economy. My only question is will acorn members man the shovels or just count as the graves are dug?

Sorry Obama but I think most American’s want that 2 more years. Your plan to take that option away is not an option for me. When you and the other leeftist in Congress and all federal employees take this deathcare plan then perhaps the rest of America will be more acception?
