I bet the Sun wasn’t bothered by David Lettermans ‘jokes’ at all.
Yes, it was inappropriate to go after the kids, (and strangely, I thought the post seemed like “bait” when I saw it..hm...), but we have every right to call Obama what he is... a communist.
And this is exactly what I meant when I was talking about dealing the left a hand full of trump cards. This is exactly why comments like that are not harmless because even if they are few and far between and even if people here challenge them, that they are here at all makes it easy to portray the whole site and conservatives in general as racists. Go ahead and complain it’s not fair and tell me how you aren’t going to let the left control what you say, and they’ll be laughing all the way to the White House in 2012 because they’ll happily control our image and message if we can’t.
Damn! Didn’t even spell my name right. And I was gonna buy a copy for my mother.
Five or six ding-a-ling comments out of 160+ doesn't indict all of us.
Yep; and it’s too bad they don’t practice what they preach.
Is this true? did you pull a thread and/or ban posters after taking pressure from liberal blogs? I never thought we were being moderated now by liberal blogs....
Does this “writer” have an email address? Or did he get all of this from MediaMatters?
I do cringe at some of my fellow FReepers comments, though. They make us all look bad in the public eye, and if we want to take this country back, we do need to be the good guys.
The picture of the Obama kid with the peace/no nukes t-shirt made me mad, but I didn’t post a comment on the thread. I was mad as that kid had no idea what it meant and she was used as a prop by Mr. & Mrs. Obama. That late 60’s symbol was a reminder of a painful time for America and we don’t want a remix of it today.
As far as the critical posts mentioned in the article, I agree some were too harsh and should have focused on who dressed the kid, not the child herself. Part of free speech is being offended by other’s comments, so I’m not saying the line on FR was crossed. Better we vent here than misbehaving with stones and pitchforks in front of the White House.
No, it's not a level or fail playing field. We can whine about it, act if it isn't so, or even use that to justify being just as dirty as the other side or we can deal with reality and behave as if the playing field isn't level and we need to do better.
Wrong. I was the poster.
Good day, Mr. Thompson!!
How ya doing?
;)
I don’t know. My head is spinning. Just yesterday I was Michelle’s grand pappy.
No bias there... link?
The stuff spewed on Daily Kos, Reddit, Digg, DU and other left leaning websites is 1000x worse.
It effectively does when they are really awful and the press highlights them. Remember, conservatives argued that you can judge Obama by the company he keeps (Wright, Ayers, etc.) and that's what they are doing to us.
Let’s take a look in the mirror, folks.
There’s no quid pro quo. They’re wrong to attack Sarah Palin’s kids and we’re wrong if we attack Obamas.
If nothing else, FReepers ought to appreciate that two wrongs don’t make a right.
Obama is fair game, so is Michelle, but she’s not the President. Wouldn’t it make more sense if we focus on generating opposition to Obama and the Democrat policies that are wrecking this country?
All of you, minus me, are frakin’ radicals who are particpating in dissent, which equates to low level terrorism. Shame on you. ;-)
