“Of course, this is skewed by the 9-11 atrocity”
Actually, not by much. You would remove 266 fatalities from the overall total of 9420 Boeing fatalities - not much impact on the average numbers.
No, the same. It was reported today. The news is a day behind me.
The A310 and the A320 are planes from two different generations.
With the A320 you have more refinement, more advances in technology, and thus more safety.
Technology wise, it’s like comparing a P-51 with a F-86 or a 727 with a 757.
Boeing has it’s share of ADIRU problems with the 777.
“Another perspective:
Airbus fatalities are 0.481 per aircraft
Boeing fatalities are 0.998 per aircraft
Of course, this is skewed by the 9-11 atrocity”
Thanks. It seems like whenever there’s an incident with an Airbus, people like to use this as a pretense to bash the French, the Europeans in general, or French engineering and manufacturing etc., whereas Airbus has actually proven to be about twice as safe, per aircraft, as Boeing. Regarding the 9-11 atrocity, someone else pointed out that it does not change fatality rates by very much.
