I read his chief of staff said he knew where he was right after they ran this crap, I guess they ignored that. /s
I do know Knotts needs a beatdown, there are ways to do things.
The governor is not irresponsible and no doubt had appropriate contingency plans during his absence. He is, however, an unusual office holder in that he remains a “real” person and is largely unaffected by the “glory”
and “accoutrements” of high office. He may well have underestimated how his enemies would take advantage of his little vacation, but that is only because he is a very decent person who likely finds it difficult to think like a normal politician.
I was somewhat surprised that he was able to make himself sign the authorization for the stimulus money in the end. He probably came close to resigning. In any case, it is clear that those who thought he was “grandstanding” over the stimulus to pave the way for an election bit were misreading the tea leaves. He is, obviously, not a calculating man in that way.
Disclaimer: While I have met the governor informally and spoken with him enough to form an opinion, I do not work for him in any way nor would he likely even remember my name.
C’mon people...
He was on a secret mission with Jack Ryan.
You now Knotts is the epitome of the good ole boy politician.
Sanford attended the Bilderberg Conference in 2007 or 2008, if I remember correctly.
The thing is: Are we sure they actually found him alive?
Runaway governor?
Please don't post the picture of the bulging-eye lady
He is the governor. What he does on the public’s time is NOT private.
” First lady Jenny Sanford told The Associated Press earlier Monday her husband has been gone for several days and she did not know where.
She said she was not concerned. “
LMAO !
Sanford was spotted at Col. Moultrie’s barn, making an inspection. Then he started off to Fort Johnson on Sullivan’s Island in Charleston Harbor.
“I sure dont care what hes doing. He deserves all the privacy he wants.”
Sorry. Not in the job description.

I’m afraid I haven’t kept up well with state politics. It does sound as if Knotts has done his best to put the gov’nor in a bad light, though.
We probably should all keep in mind two things: Mark Sanford knows that the governor does not “run” the state. (The WSJ online says the state’s in chasos, LOL.) He also understands what is going on economically and politically in the country and it probably weighs heavily upon him as it does upon many who post here.
If this had been a Dem, this board would have been all over it with 10 threads and 500+ posts.
If this had been a rat the scumbag Democrat press would have reported that "the busy governor has taken a well-deserved hiatus" and nobody would have blinked.
