If this is a potential panic moment, why is the Dow up 221 pts today?

Stimulus money is sloshing around everywhere... everyone who gets social security got an extra $250 just this month. That adds up. But it won't hold.

All the extra money is money that's borrowed.

It's money that makes China debate buying our debt.

It's money with a big interest penalty attached...

I just bought my first gun, a Glock 19, a few months ago. Just ordered more ammo last night from Cheaper Than Dirt. It’s hard to find the $ for all of this but I try to budget for it with any extra dough we get.

It won’t be like Mad Max. It’s going to be like Alexander Denisovich. When anarchy threatens, the masses crave “order” and will surrender everything for it, including the last vestiges of their liberty. This crisis was precipitated at the outset, and exacerbated at every turn, with the design and purpose of destroying the independence and wealth of the American middle class. The destruction of the middle class (known in classic Marxist circles as “bourgeoisie”) is a precondition to subjugation of all of America to the “new order.”

I majored in political science, all of my profs were grade A Marxists. I know what they are about because they told me. Marxists absolutely HATE and DESPISE the middle class. I knew it was a recipe for disaster but enough of my classmates appear to have bought into it. They now firmly grasp the levers of power in this country and have the means to finally accomplish their goals.

It is classic collectivization through impoverishment.

I suppose we’re still a little short of the “classless society” envisioned by Marx. We’re still in the “dictatorship of the proletariat” phase. I love that iconic image of our Marxist First Lady ladling out freebies to the proles wearing her $500.00 tennis shoes. Of course soup ain’t on her menu; she prefers Kobi Beef and Beluga Cavier. I think the Obamas are the biggest frauds in U.S. history. Both were manufactured by a servile press and millions of moronic lemmings with nary a trace of objectivity.

I have relatives in India, and I may move there until the initial collapse is over.

Just what kind of wealth does the middle class have? Is the middle class the $250,000 income people?
I just don’t understand exactly WHAT they are trying to accomplish.
If the country becomes impovershed, then no one spends money or buys things. No one goes to college. No one buys cars. No one can pay their taxes to support the poor teachers unions.

I don’t understand them I guess. I just can’t wrap my head around the end game.
Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see what they GET out of it-other than control.

“Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see what they GET out of it-other than control.”

Inquire no further, don’t over-think this. Control IS the endgame. Name any communist country that made the material well-being of their populace a priority. Name any communist regime that found its citizens more prosperous 10 years after assuming power. You already know the answer to this, I don’t have to tell you. None of them; not one. You can say it’s because communism “fails.” I don’t think it fails in it’s goals at all. It is wildly successful once you understand the definition of success for the communist. Success is control by the “party” and destruction of political opposition. It means the complete subjugation of the masses to the total and complete power of the state. Because material well-being means wealth and independence, and wealth and independence means the loss of control, material well-being cannot be allowed. Since control is everything, the Marxists cannot allow the masses to live in anything other than dependent poverty.

So having a productive economy that markets consumer goods to itself is inconsistent with a communist state. Now, the production of consumer goods is another matter; make them but don’t use them. Sell them for international currency, as a means of enhancing the international economic power of the state. That’s the Chinese Communist model.

So pretty much everything goes out of business; can’t afford cable, internet, QVC, pizza etc...would we get SUBSIDIZED to be able to “afford” to keep chosen businesses in business with printed money?
Is that what you mean by dependent poverty?

I know I’m over-thinking; can’t help it because it makes no sense to me to be in control of a useless, broke country of robots who hate you!
I know they probably just want to be feared more than admired, but what an awful lot of work and angst for a fleeting feeling of utter control. Hope it’s worth the trouble because the Americans I know will never allow it to last-for long. And I’d hate to be the Controlling Force when the dust settles.
True Americans have looooong memories.

Whatever is produced in the economy is rationed, or as Nancy Pelosi would say “inventoried.” We are already a long way toward rationing.

Barney Frank started rationing income for corporate executives.
With TARP money controlling banks, and the government taking over college loans, credit is being rationed.
Education is being rationed through the government control of college loans, too. There will also be quotas instituted at state-funded universities. And all universities WILL be state-funded, whether they like it or not. Ask the banks how that happened.
Health Care will be rationed through 0bamacare.
Energy/Transportation will be rationed through the combination of cap & tax, environmental regulation, no drilling policies, and finally the destruction of the dollar on international markets will make import of oil financially impossible.
Housing will be rationed through the federal mortgage subsidy programs.
I haven’t seen how they are going to ration food, but I suspect it will be a de-facto rationing through ethanol subsidies.

That’s what they want; the government will tell you how much you “need.” But you may have to go to the black market to actually get any of it.

I awoke this morning with a feeling of foreboding...a very bad feeling that disaster is looming. I know what’s coming and am resigned to watching it happen.

There's something just below the surface simmering and while it's hard to know exactly WHAT will be the event that turns it all to dust- it's easy to see what the Fed and Treasury have done is going to result in a real disaster.

I should cut and paste my posts on this thread; you can see what I believe is going to happen and why it’s happening.

This is deliberate destruction of the American way of life. It is a communist revolution, done right under our noses, carried out from within all of our public institutions.

Thanx for the explainations; I feel a little dumb asking because I DO understand it, but I DON’T! Ya know? It’s like another world/planet/America and my brain has a hard time reconciling with my heart the fact that other Americans who are so blessed to serve the greatest country on earth, would be so incredibly STUPID to do these things to OUR Great America. There really is no other word for it because as little as I know, I DO know that it will not work-for ANYONE.

Well-at least there’s a silver/golden lining... a Black Market...might have to change the name tho-maybe to The Free Market. The Black Market will be the one out in the open and run by “the man”! And if the Kennedy’s can make all of their millions doing that, so can We!

Thanx again for your time-and patience! ....SZQ

I say this as a multi-racial person but after Obama’s adminstration, the POTUS will be a white man’s job for the next 100 years.
