The Bushs thwarted the trend that was growing in the country toward smaller less intrusive government. They stood up and declared "We are not going there". And we didn't.

They don't move trends, they respond to them.

Why can’t the Dems fracture into a liberal and moderate party? Probably because there seems to very little dissident thought among the Dems. They all seem like mindless unified sheeple waiting for their government checks from the taxpayers.

Don’t kid yourself into thinking that the elections are being stolen.

The elections are simply being bought. When you have almost half of the population paying no taxes and receiving the largess of those that do, they have no reason to vote for lower taxes and more responsibility. Then you have the power hungry elites that can pay 100% of their ‘income’ in taxes since they have enough wealth that they no longer need income. And last, but not least, you have the bleeding-heart die hard socialists that really do think that things are not fair unless the outcomes are fair.

I don’t see a way out of our current crisis at the ballot box unless or until the people realize that the only way we will achieve equality is when everyone is equally poor.

There are NO MODERATES. There's only a fringe that humors itself that it has a large voting base.

They don't.

>The reason we lost is that we did not have a conservative running.<

Ah, but we did have one conservative running. His name was Duncan Lee Hunter. The people were deliberately denied coverage of this Titan, this defender of America, this rarity of truth and justice by none other than the
Socialist owned media.
At Free Republic we tried to get the word out, but even here we were met with ...... Duncan Who?

Nobody seems to get, or wants to get what the tea parties are all about. WE HAVE NO REPRESENTATION. The Democrats represent an anti-American agenda; the Republicans represent themselves (a good job with lots of perks, etc.) I don’t know if we can awaken enough sheeple before it’s too late.

a president must maintain regular communication with the american people.

Hunter threw his support for the proven, less than conservative, Huckster.

Color me skeptical.

and the other pre-Reagan Republicans are trying to blame us.

Exactly right. That more than anything else stokes my anger. I can’t wait for the next party guy call me for a contribution.

The RINO’s are either pretending or deluded into thinking that they are at the middle of Americans and therefore refer to themselves as moderates. They are not moderates, they are liberals. They are only moderate when compared to the radical liberals in the democrat party. The majority of Americans are to the right of the RINOs, so arguing that the republicans need to move further left would just leave a wider gulf of unrepresented people on the right of the spectrum.

I just visited Reagan’s grave and distinctly heard the sound of someone inside, turning over and over and over. . .

Jeb stuck his foot in his mouth, bit it off, and thought he was eating steak.

Eric Blair’s definition of “power” in his book `1984’, describing Oceania’s Inner Party—setting aside the theme of the book, with the definition as the ability to punish one’s enemies—required that a ruling political group have “the ability to select one’s successors”.
Of course that was an oligarchy. The problem the GOP has is that it is more `democratic’ (and has less discipline) than the Democrats and, to paraphrase Ann C., its dogs don’t like the food set before them.

I expect a huge turnout for Jimmy Carter's funeral. P. T. Barnum always said, "give the people what they want."

Jeb’s a mover? Not hardly. Just because he spoke up while the rest are in hiding? He’s merely the messenger and, IMO, he sees he’s been had - it’s what they all think but he said it. Not a smart move, as we all know. That’s what the libs wamt - us to become more to the center because conservatism sells! A mover is one step ahead, not two behind. Palin is a mover!
