We will NOT drop our opposition to same-sex marriage! It a proven fact that most gay “marriages” do not last and they end up harming the children that are adopted. The institution of marriage has been sacred for thousands of years and these liberals want to undermine everything.

Why are we having this liberal infestation in the GOP???

why do these gays insist on calling it marriage? it isn’t and never will be. Call it something else. it’s like the difference between natural born and adopted children — yeah they’re family, no adopted isn’t natural born and never will be. Yeah, civil union can have insurance and hospital visits, no they aren’t married, because they aren’t two different sexes. Now, can they own things as joint tenants with right of survivorship if they are in a civil union? Will there be a share to take by election if the unitee is left out of his/her partner’s will? And civil union has to be defined carefully too. Can it include more than two? Does it require parental consent for those below age? What kind of dissolution laws do we need to cope with breaking up? What kind of adoption standards do we need for those in civil unions?

Steve Schmidt can shove it where the sun don’t shine. No pun intended. I mean it.

My gay brother, who married his partner, died of AIDS 3 years ago. His lifestyle choice killed him.

Republicans do not need to support this nonsense.

Isn’t this the jerk that was badmouthing Sarah Palin from within the McCain camp? I’m pretty sure it is.

Just give them time. Although I figure the Dems will support polygamy before the GOP does seeing it will help bring in more welfare dependants/Democratic voters.

Active homosexuals generally don't believe in God, if they did they would attempt to curb their degenerate immoral behavior if for no other reason then for the sake of their immortal souls

Yikes! I have no idea! So I’ll pick on PA. LOL.

I’d like NOT to see the Phillies — just as I’d like NOT to see Arlen Specter running for Senate. ;-)

I still believe it was Steve Schmidt who released all the anti-Palin stuff as soon as the election was over, they are 180 from each other morally.

Steve Schmidt, a key architect of John McCain's failed presidential campaign...

Fixed it.

Odd that the article neglected to state that.

Offer them this compromise: get the government out of the business of marriage licensing, so it is a civil matter, then they can go ahead and marry; however, repeal any federal laws that grant them special rights. If they say they want to be like everyone else, then they can prove it.
