Yep. It seems to me that SEAL training alone is an act of heroism.

I was just watching Fox News. They are running a special. The Naval Commander for that area said the pirates were becoming agitated, pointing weapons at the Capt. The Capt. of the Bainbridge determined Phillips was in immediate danger and gave the order. When all 3 pirates were in sight at the same time they were all shot simultaneously in the head, killing them instantaneously.

“Pleased” BAH! Bush (or McCain) would have effusively praised the Navy boys.

"We love all you Navy boys. Everytime we gotta go someplace to fight, you fellas give us a ride." -- US Marine Lt. Jonathon Kendrick (Keifer Sutherland), "A Few Good Men"

God bless ALL American warriors.

One of the biggest problems we have on FR is what has been referred to as the circular firing squad. It's rare that I take part since my enemy is and always will be the demorats.

I see them as tearing down the country and I want everyone I can get on my side to help stop them from destroying capitalism and our free market economy to say little if anything about preservation of the constitution.

It's hard for me to get caught up in these little troll like arguments when to me there is so much at stake.

Personally, knowing what little I do know about kabar, I would never second guess the guy and always pay close attention to his posts.

This guy has been up and down the ladder and knows govt. at so many levels that few of us have had his experiences.

My hope for the future of this site and others is that we put aside petty bickering and join in on the cause which should unite all of us--preserving our way of life and advancing conservatism. Time to do away with the circular firing squads where we shoot our own.

Somehow I just don't feel the need to document all the injustices, errors of judgment and moves toward socialism brought to us by the anointed one. How much intel does one need after all.

Pizza made by a Joker flown in from St Louis with 20 lbs of dough and 3 gallons of Sauce! Shame ZERO can’t find a decent PIZZA Maker in D.C.? Isn’t there at least one good Pizza maker in D.C. with all the Govt. money flying around instead of flying some Goon in from 1000 Miles away! I.ll bet there is even at least 100 great Black Pizzaria Owners in D.C. that make Pizzas 100 times better than somebody from St. Louis of all places! GEEEEZZZZ! My GOSH! Stupid IS as STUPID DOES! Flying a PIZZA GUY a 1000 Miles is the HEIGHT of STUPIDITY, IGNORANCE, ARROGANCE AND OSTANATION!
PLEASE GOD! GIVE ZERO A BRAIN QUICK!

“I’m hearing rumors that Obama couldn’t make a decision “

Didn’t the Navy say it took asking twice? Seems they had to prod the idiot.

This has been OBE’d. He only jumped once and was tied down most of the time. Three of the pirates were shot from the fantail of the Bainbridege by snipers. The Navy had an ROE to shoot if they felt the hostage was going to be injured or killed.

“but I suspect that this information ‘may’ not be released”

For that reason probably any story we hear from the Navy concerning this incident is suspect, and not that giving us a bogus story is a bad thing. I prefer them to have the advantage of secrecy versus satisfying my curiosity.

Apparently, the Navy sent one of their cooks, a man reportedly named “ Navy Seal chef Casey Rybeck” over with food and supplies. At some point, one of the Somali pirates made a negative comment about his cooking, and it was at this point that Chief Rybeck “handled his business” effectively bringing this hostage crises to an end.

Anyone who has worked in the restaurant business can tell you that cooks -- from fry cooks to gourmet chefs -- are often genetically linked to dynamite. The very few gourmet chefs who don't have a reputation for catching fire and blowing up regularly are regarded as lucky breaks for those who work with them. A four-star restaurant chef may well fling a frying pan at an offender in the kitchen (true). I'd say that if a Navy SEAL chef served up a can of catfood with a sprig of parsley garnish, you'd better respond like it was caviar! ;^)

I can't tell you the times that Limbaugh has repeated or spun many items mentioned here on FR, happens quite frequently. We don't always get credit but the similarities of what he is saying go well beyond coincidence.

I hope Free Republic doesn't get the credit! We shouldn't NEED the credit! Is that why we're here? I know it's not why I'm here. If pundits started openly crediting Free Republic, all it would do would be to bring posters who post solely in the hope of getting Rush or Levin's ear, and that would be bad. I was SET FREE professinally and personally, and have prospered ever since, when I read what is said to be one of Ronald Reagan's favorite quotes: "You can accomplish anything if you don't care who gets the credit." AMEN.

Come on!

I am very glad this turned out well.

However, we all must ask: Why did the pirates NOT take any American hostages for, what, 200 years?

Why now, with Obama as President?

Also, there WILL be more attacks if we do not retaliate, and I doubt that any retaliation will be forthcoming.

The FUTURE is more important than the present, in ANY terrorist or hostage situation.

I am proud of our military, and I think the entire crew of the Mersk Alabama would make great neighbors -—

But this stuff has got to stop, and the French plus the Americans have, what now? TWO successful rescues after HOW MANY Pirate captures?

HOW MANY hostages do the pirates STILL hold?

“Obama failed the test...”

As you said and O will continue to do so. We don’t have to “make up stories” we only have to pick one from many to prove his worth.

It only needs to be posted LOUD and CLEAR for all to see.

“With God and the Navy SEALs on our side”

As much as I love the SEALs and what they do, We really need the Lord. We need to listen and to follow. Even the SEALs would fail with out HIM. So the above statement is the truth.

I was not called into this discussion by dirtboy. I had read the first 100 or so comments, then came back later and read the 900 numbers. Saw this conflict and reacted. You referred to some inappropriate comments dirtboy made earlier. If you give me the numbers I will go look at them. I have a lot of tax stuff to do still or I would look myself. I don’t know if he would classify me as a “useless newbie”. After more than 3 years here, am I still a newbie?
