The only part of this story that was completely accurate, BTW—nobody pulled the throttles back. According to the French report, they had only 13 seconds between the A340 first started moving and the impact with the wall. In that time, nobody grabbed the throttles and yanked them back to idle.

These guys were not flight crew. They were ground crew. It’s perfectly ordinary for non-pilot maintenance personnel to do things like engine run-up testing on aircraft. This time, Airbus screwed up by not having the wheels securely chocked.

There they go again, driving planes at full power, without any regard for life or property.

“Thats one of the minor problems of Islam, a deep belief Allah controls EVEREYTHING, therefore there is no incentive to learn, invent or improve.”
Substitute the word “government” for allah and you have the democrap party belief.

Airbus screwed up by not having the wheels securely chocked.Would they be able to hold back 224,000 pounds of thrust?
To: Right Wing Assault
I assume they’ve got some sort of chock or gizmo that can hold it—if not, somebody really screwed up running up all four engines at one time instead of doing them in pairs (as their procedure says now).

You recall incorrectly. Mishap occurred in November of 2007.

Depends what specification one is talking about. If it's length then the A340-600 is indeed the largest passenger aircraft ever built; at 247’ 1” it is longer than both the A380 - 239’ 3” and the 747-400 - 231’ 10”.

This brand spanking new Airbus 340-600, the largest passenger airplane ever built... I'm no great fan of the muslim hordes, but I had to quit reading after this little gem.
The A380 is the largest passenger airplane ever built.
Just sayin...
