If you’re going to mess up, might as well mess up big.

It's not been announced how it hit the shoal, which is marked on charts. The Port Royal draws 33 feet of water, and the shoal is 22 feet under water. The captain of the Port Royal was relieved, which is normal for a grounding such as this.

WHAT?!?!?

You think he shouldn’t have been relieved?

Cruise prices will probably go up, to pay for the repairs.

Wait till Barney Frank hears about this! He'll be catching the first Gub’ment plane to the Islands. Imagine all those sailors he can chase after while She's in dry dock. If only the One would go through with dumping that silly “don't ask don't tell” routine.

Calling all VLS guys, any theories how the hatches on top of the launcher could be twisted? I think it will be interesting to see how badly damaged the Port Royal is, but I think either a more credible report, or at least a better written one will be needed.

This is too bad. Zero is going to gut the military enough as it is.

“Shave his b*lls with a rusty razor, shave his b*lls with a rusty razor, earli in the morning...” (the skipper justifiably needed to be fired but it was probably some young j.g. on watch at the time of the grounding)

Let me suggest that the crap dumped into the harbor was not on the navigation charts. The people who dumped it into the bay should pay for the ship’s repair.

WHAT?!?!?

Not "relieved" as in "Hey! That wasn't so bad!"

"Relieved" as in fired.
