The Morning Joe crew is live outside the WH this am covering that 15 minute speech Obama is giving tonight, LIVE outside the WH, freezing and covering this speech like it is Inauguration Day. I changed the channel but are going to have Axelrod etc on live this am. They should really change the name to The Obama Network.

Matthews: "I thought 8,000 was the floor, and it looks like 6,000 is the floor. People are angry, I'm getting angry."Oh the floor may be lower than that, IMHO. I guess when people's pocketbooks start to be affected...then they start to "see the light".
Interesting thing is they're laying the blame squarely on O...it is "his" economy now, no matter how much he continues to blame Bush.

PRINCETON, N.J., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Americans have a low opinion of Congress, just not as low, with approval ratings for U.S. lawmakers going from 19 percent to 31 percent, Gallup poll reports. The Sheeple are hopeless

The good news is that maybe this economy, and Zero's flailing response to it, will finally destroy the myth of Democrat competence in economic matters, and the myth that New Deal policies work. It's going to be a terrible price to pay. In the long run, we can only hope it's worth it. It's a double edged sword and we lose either way. The economy will eventually rebound. It will take longer now based on how we are governing this mess. But it will. Guess who will get credit when it does finally start to rebound and is going strong again in about 4 years? On the other hand, if things continue they way they have been going, I'll be using my degree as a sales guy at Home Depot while living in a paid for SUV with a family of 4.
I am not sure what to hope for. If I hope for the economy to turn around, we get 8 years of this guy and my family is secure now but my kids have it worse. If I hope for it to be bad enough for our short term memories to impact the next election, my kids may be better off but I won't be able to send them to private school or college.

Interesting thing is they're laying the blame squarely on O...it is "his" economy now, no matter how much he continues to blame Bush. You must be talking about the "failed economic policies of the last 8 years."
I think I've heard this campaign speech before.
We do have to be honest, however, Bush did push the first spending bill and all warned that it would only lead to more. Like phony filibusters, this will become common practice in short order.
BTW - What about Social Security reform? How are we going to fix that in about 15 years? I guess we'll just kick that can down the road again. We're still trying to fix the problems we caused the first time we tried this economic stabilization plan.

In fact, the accurate quote works even better:

Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd.

It's going to be a terrible price to pay. In the long run, we can only hope it's worth it. The GOP needs a good economy to thrive. Dims, on the other hand, can survive and thrive because of a disasterous economy. Dims (lefties) will intentionally destroy an economy just to gain more government control over it. Totalitarians all over the world keep their people starving in order to stay in power.

People that I know and trust and have made me a lot of money fear that we will be 20 to 30 years trying to throw off the chains of socialism that hussein has shackled us with. There is NO optimism at all in the financial sector... not a drop. There is an abundant amount of fear and loathing!

Exactly what I was thinking shortly after 4:00 P.M. yesterday.
As for “the tingle,” I think a lot of people, including Chrissy, have come to the realization that what they were feeling back in October-November were lower limbs that had fallen asleep during the “sermon.” The service is over and now they have to walk on those numb wobblies . . . and they are not liking that at all.
Then again, there are all those polls out today that would have us believe that “all the Whos down in Whoville” have joined hands and are singing giddy-glee their praises for the manner in which “Thing One and Thing Two” are merrily bouncing our “one-wheeler wubble” down “the road to Solla Sollew.” Your know, the place “Where they never have troubles, at least very few. . . .”
Meanwhile, at least seven out of ten—and I'm sure we could get more if we count again—of the meek and unified Whos believe that all the Star Bellied Sneech conservatives and especially those evil Republican Grinches in Congress are conspiring to thwart the good works and besmirch the great name of the benevolent and kindly Mayor of Whoville. . . .
Dr. Seuss taught us everything we needed to know about what is going on. ;)
Predictions for today's close? . . . .

I saw the segment. If the press turns on Obama (I think they will) it will get messy. How can anyone deny the fact that the stock market is in free-fall when Obama was about hope and change. This was not supposed to happen.

No... and you will not see any on them or hussein... if they were soaring... it would lead every night... but they are both tanking fast... congress had far less distance to fall to hit the bottom of the pit.

The economy will only rebound when the socialist policies are overturned... and if that does not happen quickly... we will never see a return because this country will rip itself apart at the seams... This is the true future that we face. NO ONE that I know that works on Wall Street has any confidence in anything these marxists are doing... they fear we will see decades of pain if this is not rolled back starting in 2010.
