CG writes...McCain has to take a hit from all the haters for THIS?? He slams Obama and trashes the stimulus disaster plan and there are still people on FR who have to jump in with their worn out RINO comments?

And, I see your point that Mister McCain is indeed saying some things with which you and I both agree.

That said, an alternative spending plan of 420 bil does disqualify any claims of being a "foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution", would you not agree?

I did not support McCain in the primaries, however once he was "ours" and faced a truly frightening Marxist candidate, I supported him (right here on FR, and also with my hard-earned $$$).

Is McCain a RINO? I would say that he is a conservative or Republican only when he thinks it's to his advantage. And, a more important point is McCain's ineffectual "effort" to stop the red-to-blue confiscation and re-distribution (aka stimulus) coupled with his whiny carping really demonstrates that he doesn't have the serious, Reaganesque and Bush moral center that we look for in GOP senators.

CG I love your tagline (especially as a parent with two in uniform.) Dubya has and had the moral courage to do the right thing on the most critical issues. (I differ with him on illegal aliens and a couple of other things, but keeping us safe was where Dubya courageously placed his presidency; and I already miss him.)

McCain (and his little sister Graham) are perennially trying to please the media, and McCain congratulates himself for this lack of principle by calling himself a "maverick".

What McCain is saying about lack of bipartisanship in the stimulus plan is true; however, it's just small-time theater. He would do another McCain/Feingold in a second if he thought it would score some heavy petting from the media.

I see your point, hopefully you see mine. Again, love your tagline.

Had MCLame steadfastly opposed the original TARP, he’d have been elected in a landslide

He is Toast in AZ. IMHO!

“McCain has to take a hit from all the haters for THIS?? He slams Obama and trashes the stimulus disaster plan and there are still people on FR who have to jump in with their worn out RINO comments? That just shows how pointless and uninformed their political commentary is.”

McCain has made it very clear his little temper tantrums come from his name not being on the bill. As others pointed out, he had a gigantic spending bill of his own. That disqualifies him from any notion of sainthood you and the other trolls would have conservatives bestow upon him.

Kyl's one of the good guys.

I would be more than proud to have him as my Senator instead of the 2 thieves I've got.

“Did he support the illegal alien amnesty?

Yes Kyl did initially but got his mind change by the uproar.”

This is wrong. He was one of the chief pushers of the amnesty throughout. He pushed the famous “clay pigeon” strategy to overcome the filibuster by conservatives. He did this a few months after getting re-elected while promising not to support amnesty. The guy is a mealy-mouthed scum.
