Four police officers murdered for no apparent reason other than that they were cops? That makes these political assassinations, and that means terrorism.
What particular ideology motivated the murderer and his accomplice matters little at this point. But echos of John Allen Muhammed and Lee Malvo come immediately to mind.
Muslim website calls for attacks against USA just 4 days before Ft. Hood attack
The muslim website kavkaz center published an entry from Sheikh Anwar Al-Awlaki calling for jihad against the United States on November 1, 2009, just 4 days prior to the Fort Hood tragedy.
Al-Awlaki was the imam at Dar Al-Hijrah mosque during the time cowardly murderer Nidal Hasan attended the center. Al-Awlaki also had contact with Hasan at the time of the attack, which he called acceptable under islamic law.
Iran whistleblower died from drug-laced salad
CAIRO – A 26-year-old doctor who exposed the torture of jailed protesters in Iran died of poisoning from a delivery salad laced with an overdose of blood pressure medication, prosecutors say. The findings fueled opposition fears that he was killed because of what he knew.

This is a Dell PC with Windows 7 - I already downloaded Firefox as I couldn’t deal with IE :)
I've made some big changes to the way I stock my "extra" storage goods.
I had a couple 'scares' last month when I was ill.
First off, although I "always" have LOTS of extra lightbulbs in the drawer.... seems everyone else around here was replacing lightbulbs but me, and I didn't notice we were down to ONE NEW LIGHT BULB - until one evening when I happened to be ill, in no condition to run to the store to stock up.
So there will no longer be a substantial "stash" of bulbs in the OLD lightbulb drawer, just a very few of each type we use.
I felt very lucky when I was finally able to run errands. First I stopped by U-Haul and got several very heavy duty moving boxes.
Then I went to at least half a dozen different stores, and at each shop bought one or two or even three packages of lightbulbs.
When the family tells me there are NO LIGHTBULBS, HELP -- I'll go down into the basement, or up into the attic; half of my storage boxes are on shelves in the basement, well away from the cement floor or else up in the far reaches of the attic.
I've divided by lightbulb purchases into the six boxes.
Seriously.
The LAST thing I want to have happen if I have to shelter in place, and we still have utilities functioning --- is to run out of LIGHT BULBS.
Or what if we have a massive trucking strike? Or a terror incident at a major port? Or a quarantine? OR, OR, Or, Or..... SO many many "ors."

You see... I no longer *trust* the storage system I set up, even though this really is the very first time there was no stash of lightbulbs in the drawer.
So, now..... whenever I run out of something, it has to go on one of 2 lists.
The first list is for general grocery & household items; but the second list is for items that would "drive us NUTS" were we without them in an emergency. And that list has more things than "just" toilet paper and light bulbs... and that kind of list will differ for each family.
Anyway.... IF it is a "I will go NUTS without this if I have to shelter in place for ten days without it" type of item --- then it is purchased in multiples, at different stores and in different brands --- as I don't want to make one big bulk purchase and learn years later that it was defective and recalled.
Anyway, I know that most people who are concerned about the future "shop" in their storage pantries at home, but there really are some things which you need LOTS of, during real life emergencies, and I hadn't realized some serious gaps in my own storage system.
Also, last month, I learned that some people get healthy from H1N1 if they take EXTRAORDINARY amounts of D-3 on a daily basis. I came nowhere near that amount of IUs, but within a few days of taking 20,000 units of vitamin D-3, I was out of it.
And that is disconcerting.
What if my entire family had needed mega doses of this vitamin??
I am going to find a synthetic version of D-2 for Emergency Storage, cuz I think the D-3 expires alot quicker.
Do you by any chance happen to know what the survivalists advise?
One can't really stock up on too many -- because they will go bad in storage, right?
We are "low" on C and D batteries right now, and I'm considering getting a solar charger -- but I wonder if there are any really superior brands, or if it's better to simply rely on everready & duracell.

AirTran e-mail stirs up Internet firestorm -with video (FAA now investigating)
The FAA is investigating an incident aboard an AirTran flight from Atlanta to Houston that touched off a firestorm of e-mails.
AirTran Flight 297 was delayed on November 17 after a passenger refused to turn off his cell phone.

According to the e-mail, Petruna and other passengers believed they witnessed a dry run for a terrorist attack. Petruna said he couldn’t talk on camera, but Chaplain Keith Robinson, who was also on the flight, did talk with us.

“Flight attendants were sobbing openly,” Robinson said. Robinson said a passenger getting off the plane warned him not to get on.
“He said ‘I just saw them there were these Middle Eastern men. They were taking pictures. They wouldn’t sit down, ‘” Robinson said. “Besides that, he said a couple of them were making gestures with their hand as if they were shooting people.”

Thanks, I saw part of this the other day - I was dumbfounded to read they took them off and then let them back on!! The original flight crew left as did *some* of the passengers. Replaced by new crew.
I would have LEFT pronto - but I guess some have become sheep again. 9-11 is a distant memory.
This is a very troubling incident and should not be taken lightly by those that have authority to investigate it.
Amen to that.
Political correctness will be the precursor to another attack.
Can you imagine if you or I had refused to turn off our cell phones and made mocking motions of shooting with our fingers? We’d still be in jail.

Sorry, but I do believe that I've enjoyed all of the benefits of political correctness and diversity that I'm going to tolerate.
Open note to anybody planning crap like this: Just hope and pray I and my family don't happen to be on your target flight, because I'm going to take such actions as a direct threat and go directly to war.

I can believe this I flew the day before Thanksgiving and let me tell you there were police all over our airport more than I have ever seen in the last 9 years. They wer guarding the terminals on the outside and on the inside. I couldn’t believe the amount here at my airport at my destination it was just the opposite which made me think the threat was at our airport.
