Well...I don’t know what was going on inside of their heads, but I’ve gathered that Paul was their “principled” candidate, and Obama was the lesser of two weevils to end the Iraq War and “get the economy going”.

I don’t defend their votes nor their reasoning. I was merely stating for the record that many Obama voters were probably principled Americans who wanted to get the Boosh era as far behind us as possible. We need all the principled voters on our side. Insulting them doesn’t help to achieve that goal.

I have to say, they did us a favor by helping to exclude Juan McAmnesty from the WH. Now the grass roots can get to work to elect real conservatives and constitutionalists in 2010 and 2012.

Now, what should I say about your inlaws?

Obamunism, the fatal cure for Bush Derangement Syndrome.

I used to think that ignorance was curable, but stupidity was fatal. Now I know they both are terminal.

“Would that do?”

No, it would not.

We need to educate and engage these fellow Americans one by one. They, like Jorge Boosh and Juan McAmnesty voters, are products of the socialist government school system of moral relativism and non-education.

SecAmndmt said this:

At least the 20-something Obamatrons have excuses: youth and recent socialist government education.

Okay...I'm a bit confused...You said your 50 yr old in-laws in spite of their Reagan roots voted for Obama....

!

But then you tell me.....we need to educate them.

THEN AGAIN you say to another poster that the 20-something's have excuse's...because of youth and recent baloney!!

SecAmndmt said the following:

Personally I'm calling you a B.S'er...right here and now.....and probably a disrupter, Obama supporter.

RE “The only thing L Ron Paul would have done different than Obozo is surrender us earlier to the enemy.

The past half year we have seen what GWB has brought us. Look through history and the fastest way to destroy the major world power is to bankrupt it. In fact GWB and his mouthpiece Hannity have brought us Obama and Pelosi. I dont agree with all Ron Paul's positions but I also dont agree that Sept 11 gave GWB a license to bankrupt this country. Don't like Ron? Then blame GWB for leaving a huge bulls-eye on the party he was in charge of for eight years. Here's a good Paul quote from above that hits the nail on the head :

It is like they're born-again budget conservatives,” Paul said. “Where were we in the past eight years, when we could have done something? And you see our last eight years that has set this situation up. So we can't blame the Democrats for the conditions we have.

If you support the Constitution and limited government and no one else does, I wouldn’t really expect you to get anything accomplished either. But I’d support you till the end.

I believe him. I was talking with some Republicans at a Thanksgiving dinner and most were willing to give Obama a shot (I think one or 2 had voted for him while the rest ranged from indifferent to mad, but they all agreed we should support him). The consensus was that Bush had been so bad to conservatism and the image of the nation was so tarnished that perhaps Obama wasn’t such a bad thing.

Granted I of course countered and pointed out how obviously to the left this guy is. While I do think Bush was bad for conservatism, I didn’t agree that the answer was a socialist that can speak well. But I do see at least where they are coming from. We had control of everything and look what was accomplished. Soaring deficits, nation building (which Bush specifically ran against), medicare part D, No Child Left Behind, the amnesty fiasco, etc.

I think there are just a lot of very disillusioned Republicans/conservatives out there right now, me included.

“Dr. Paul was also marginalized, belittled, berated and bashed by some seriously disturbed and deranged FReepers who apparently couldn’t bear the thought of having an actual Constitutional Conservative anywhere NEAR the White House.”

He’s not a part of the establishment(CFR, Bilderberg, International banking crowd). He does however, constantly warn us about them.

WE SHOULD LISTEN!

And yet you still find nothing wrong with calling a veteran a disgrace who you don’t even know?

SoCalPol, and all: a government that is sufficiently powerful to conduct nation-building abroad is also powerful enough to do the same to its own citizens. The only difference is that domestic nation-building is more commonly referred to as social "engineering" and is accomplished by manipulating the tax code and passing voluminous regulations.

It's easy to advocate for Big Government's imperialist wars when you don't have to go fight for it. It's also easy to cheer for Big Government's "economic stimulus" folly when you don't have to pay the bill. And the two are opposite sides of the same coin; one is foreign, the other is domestic.

As for Rep. Paul's comments, they are dead on, and I agree with them one hundred percent.

I say far nastier things about McCain, though his activities while in service are highly disputable, and he is not a Freeper but rather a public figure.

It doesn’t matter, because SoCalPol doesn’t matter. Someone who has to live his or her “life” through others is utterly meaningless, even less so than the wind that blows through San Diego. I’ve got him or her pegged and he/she doesn’t stack up very well. A loser, one who has to brag about his or her “connections” and has to denigrate and demean anyone who seriously wants to see our country actually put aright, is laughable and useless, so I am putting this loser on ignore.

Please go back and read what you wrote...and what I replied to.

You contradicted yourself.....and came off as a double-talking disruptor...IMO.

Maybe I am wrong....wouldn't be the first time........

But go back and read your comments again...and tell me it's not double-talk.
