I myself don't think he's right about EVERYTHING, he's human, after all.

As a matter of fact, I disagree w/ Dr. Paul on a few issues: the death penalty, for one--altho I respect the reasons WHY he opposes it (I strongly support it & don't think it is used enough! Dr. Paul is PRO-LIFE, whether it be by individuals or the state doing the killing; so I'll give him a pass on that one.

...Yer right, I don’t know everything he stands for, that’s ignorance on me. But, I believe he’s about the best we can do right now...

Republican voters did.

I agree w/ you....& even more so. I don’t think he’s just “the best we can do”, I consider Rep./Dr. Paul to be a true statesman w/ integrity & principle. I have even heard that he refuses to accept $ into his federal pension, & that every year he returns the unused portions of his Congressional stipend back to the federal treasury! If I am mistaken about any of this, I would love to know. Sen./Dr. Tom Coburn (R-OK) seems to be another good guy, from what I can tell.

"but the media simply reduced him to a freak-show-topic when they talked about him at all."

Paul did that all on his own.

...Yea, too bad we don’t have more statesmen...

...Thinking I might move to Pauls’ district...

“Paul did that all on his own.”

He topped fundraising for gop candidates in q4 07. His proportional coverage was completely inconsistent with this.

I am not arguing Paul’s positions here, for or against. Many were simply impossible, others dangerous, others welcome.

What I am saying is that the media didn’t even give him a platform to put his message out. They chose the messages and candidates they let present their views, and in essence chose the most unpopular gop candidate they could.

“I guarantee that they’ll go on a spending spree again if and when we regain the majority.”

Up until this year, the GOP had the claim of being the big spending/government party. The DNC is about to pass them, though this is greatly a function of opportunity.

...Thinking I might move to Pauls’ district...

Or better yet, we need to find such statesmen / women in OUR OWN districts & elect THEM into Congress! Remember that Rep./Dr. Paul is ~72 yrs old.

Q: Legislation does what?

A: Limits your freedom.

Think about why passing loads and loads of legislation is something less than a virtue.

So all your family and friends served... DID YOU? If not, then just sit back and have a nice cup of STFU. Until and unless you walk where I have walked, you have no idea whatsoever WHERE I stand on war. Or why. And your “marching” is just so cool. And so impressive, I almost shat myself. YOU actually PROTESTED some protesters. Good for YOU. Good golly, miss Molly, you’re such a TIGER of a conservative, you are.

My previous comments stand, as you have done NOTHING to cause me to want to change one word, you armchair commando, you Remington Raider, you. (That’s for the typewriter company, BTW, as I doubt you would own any Remington, the armsmaker, products. I’m sure you’d not know what to do with them.)

“by some seriously disturbed and deranged FReepers”

Remember the ones who said they would even vote for Hillaroid over RP?

It would be interesting to know which members of the political, business, banking and media establishments maintain little covert memberships here lying in wait to bash constitutionalists, conservatives and other principled, honest limited government advocates.

I am just so thrilled I can’t stand it. I notice that you didn’t say whether or not YOU served, so I presume you didn’t.

You can also tell your friends I served from 1967 to 1993, unlike you, who lives vicariously off the lives of others, apparently. And whilst you are mocking, consider this: I had (and have) a life of my own, one of true service to my society and my country. You have to “live” through OTHER FOLKS’ lives. Poor you.

And think about this: Your friends would have more in common with ME than they could with you... since, if they are Marines, we have all walked the same pathways. So go on, you waste of air. Be demeaning to me, to Dr. Paul (who ALSO served, by the way) and to other Conservatives who actually DO want to see government shrunk to its constitutional levels. It doesn’t matter because YOU don’t matter.

“even the brain dead Obama voter”

I think we need to have a better understanding of Obama voters. I have several in-laws who voted for Obama and not one of them is a far left liberal or “brain dead”. All of them are middle class, respectable, and over the age of 50. All of them are pro-military but oppose the Iraq war. I would describe them as Reagan Democrats or moderate Republicans.

All of them would have voted for Ron Paul over any other Republican or Democrat, had he been on the ticket.

How about refusing to self-inform easily lead, lazy american lemmings?

Would that do?

let me clarify... not more brain dead that they would have voted for Ron Paul... more brain dead that they would have voted for Ron Paul, and went ahead and voted for Obama...

Oh how cute. Do you have any idea how lame that sounds? You just told a veteran that he is a disgrace and he rebutted and now you’re going to share the comments with your friends?

Not every soldier has to be pro war and not every soldier even has to state their position. In fact the mark of a professional soldier is that he ISN’T political (publicly anyway). General Petraeus is an excellent example of this.

Most soldiers are conservative and to be sure most probably support the war. But it’s a stretch of the imagination by any means to therefore conclude that soldiers who say good things about an anti war candidate are a “disgrace”.

“oh brother... this makes them seem even more brain dead... in my opinion...”

The most brain dead voters I’ve EVER met are self-styled conservative evangelical Jorge Boosh voters. I can’t stand to be around these idolatrous hypocrites.

And I say that as a very conservative evangelical Christian and a Constitutionalist.

At least the 20-something Obamatrons have excuses: youth and recent socialist government education.
