This is a good test for new RNC chief Steele. Explain to these RINOs to back the party

It's also a good time to remind Steele that he gets no contributions if he supports these people in their reelection. The only way to kill an incumbent is to starve it.

Just sent this to Spector, FWIW:

Senator Spector,

Please oppose this outrageous attempt to socialize the American economy.

For President Obama and the Democratic Congress to even suggest that this monstrosity has anything to do with economic 'stimulus' is a despicable lie. We need you and every other Republican senator to stand firm and oppose this bill. It needs to die a quick death, and allow the free market economy to recover on its own, as the recent turnaround in the existing housing market portends.

When casting your vote, please remember this famous quote from a very prescient 19th-century foreign observer of American life - Alexis de Toqueville:

"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. "

Thank you for your service,

bassmaner

There needs to be a harsher term.

One that's printable.

Vichy. American-style.

The irony of the picture is that Queeg and his mini-me Grahamnesty are running scared and now are savaging their Democrat masters.

Those 4 get to share the blame with the rats when the stimulus fails to stimulate.

Those 4 are going to give Hussein, Harry, and Pelosi Galore cover to say it was a bi-partisan effort.

“Sherrod Brown is as liberal as the day is long.

But I will say that when Brown votes for every liberal, douche bag idea that comes down the pike you at least know where he’s coming from. “

Yes, indeed. Sherrod Brown is a cheerleader for big govt boondoggle spending. He’d be a sure vote for this monstrosity.

Voinovich is retiring, he won’t vote GOP for anything is my bet, Specter really needs to go — email Steele — Personally I think COllins and Snowe are both beyond hope ditzes.

I can tell you from experience that Specter doesn’t care one whit how many people — including constituents— contact him.

That’s ok!! He still needs to hear from us. Republicans and Conservatives are too easily swayed. If they’re going to do something this worthless, I think, they should hear about it...

See my post 39 on on this thread.

Write. Write.Write. Maybe he'll change his vote. Maybe I should start a separate thread.

Let’s see. Snowe and Collins are in states that are so Democratic that nobody can figure out how Republicans get re-elected there in the first place. If you knock them off they will certainly go Democratic.

Voinovich is already not running so you don’t need to knock him off. But Ohio is certainly no sure bet to put in a Republican especially as times get worse and after the McConnell lead fiasco of obstructionism on the stimulus bill. How tone-deaf is our Republican leadership? Getting a better stimulus bill would have been something to be proud of but to the average American McConnell and his crowd came across as uncaring, out-of-touch and ruthlessly partisan. That’s how you lose an election.

Specter knows that Pennsylvania is moving leftward as well and he’s unlikely to move to the right because he wants to get re-elected. Knocking him off would also probably increase the probability of a Democrat winning there too.

With Gregg bowing out and Martinez not running both of these states have a really strong chance of moving into the Democratic column in 2010. Be careful which Republican you target to take down because we’re already in trouble. Two more senators and the Republicans won’t even have a say in things.
