I have been paying attention for far longer than a decade and I know what you're saying about developments in Russia and in US-Russian relations (look earlier than 1999 for that lovely history, specifically with Albright and Clinton, PFP/NATO, Yugoslavia)... Sure, the election isn't the sole cause for a renewed Cold War, but surely you don't disagree with my sentiment that Obama's election was a giant green light for the world's worst?

Most of the morons in our dumbed down populace don't even know what the Cold War was...

Have you ever asked yourself why that's the case?

There are a variety of reasons that would require a lengthy exploration of the societal and political influences exerted on today’s educational system, but one of the main reasons why the population is so dumbed down is that PC dogma has entered the classroom at all levels. There’s great emphasis on social engineering, multi-culturalism, and indoctrinating students in liberal theology at the expense of learning the lessons of history, unless of course it offers an opportunity to blame America first.

I can. I do.

I think perhaps your vision is impaired by partisan beer goggles - due to core American interests, which are bipartisan regardless of how much rhetoric or hyperbole is flying around, American foreign policy will have more similarities than differences between successive regimes (Republican vs. Democrat), and for that reason our enemies will continue to act no differently regardless of who's in charge.

We'll continue to support Israel, South Korea, Taiwan, and NATO aspirants, and will draw the ire of those who's interests are opposed to ours. How that ire manifests itself is anybody's guess, just as it was in 2001 - about the only guarantee is that it will manifest iteslf, just as it did after 2001.

Well I disagree about the beer goggles. Not partisan beer goggles at all; I prefer to call it a distinct Kagan influence.

Good point.
