I may do that....Angeles Crest Highway does not go past the old highway 39 turnoff anymore. I used to hike up at Dawson Saddle when it got hot in the basin during the summer.

I use to go to the Calabasas Mine Shaft.
You could ride your horse up to the front and tie it to one of the hitching posts and go in for a beer or many and then let your horse find its way home.
NOw a condo.
