Two words: Reverend Wright.

BO said guilt by association is wrong, now let’s hold him to it.

Agreed. I think the best strategy for us right now following 2 historically bad losses in a row, is to elect country club members, especially whites-only country club members.

We are toast to the MSM either way, but they will really lay into us if Dawson gets the nod.

I know, that most of you will say that the MSM can pound sand, but most of the masses only hear what they want through the msm.

Can you imagine the questions? “Mr. Dawson, would you join a country club with Barack Obama?”

If you party guys don’t want whites in the GOP then maybe we’ll just sit home like we did in 2008. Because pandering to minorities worked soooo well for McCain and Bush.

I agree 100%. If somebody doesn't want a person who belonged to a whites-only country club, that means that they don't like whites.

What about the MSM saying “In the wake of Obama’s historic victory, the GOP succumbs to me-tooism and selects a token black guy to head the party?” They’ll be sure to find every area where he’s more moderate or even liberal and expose that and highlight it and use it to drive wedges. They’ll say there was a strong conservative in line for the position, but the party was too afraid and conscious of image so they went with the black guy. They’ll accuse the party of selling out and basically making a PR decision to have a black guy. Meanwhile, why would that appeal to minorities or blacks when they have their own black guy in the WH who 95% of them already voted for?

I would have thought we learned with Palin and how many women still opposed her that things like race or gender aren’t guarantees of anything.

If you think Steele is the best guy, fine. But don’t go for him because you think he’ll open up new avenues to the black vote or the hispanic vote or because the media will like him or give him an easy time or anything like that.

Is she any good? I don’t know much about Dawson.

Member of an all-white country club in SC. Has other race issues in resume. Just what we need to expand the party

“especially whites-only country club members.”

You’ll never win the minority vote in the age of Obama no matter if we select Martin Luther King’s ghost to be chairman.

Btw, didn’t we try the outreach thing with McCain in 2008?

Worrying about what the media and the enemy think are the equivalent to being nice to Al-qaeda hoping they will kill us last.

Playing nice is a losers game.

So what if he did? Has Jeremiah Wright apologized for being a racist?

Wow. Have you considered running for RNC Chair? I think you'd beat Katon Dawson.

I was under the impression the whites-only thing was from the deed 80+ yrs ago and Dawson had no knowledge of it and as soon as he found out, hel eft the club immediately and implored it to change the policy. Unlike someone else who stayed in his club for 20+ yrs knowing full well the racism and bigotry of its leader.

I agree with you the image is bad, but we can’t let the MSM shape things. They’re put to get us no matter what. They’ll find plenty of things to say about Steele.
