It’s really time that we start putting the word out that these “journalist” are the stupid one.
One example: Katie Couric’s idiotic question about reading. Sarah’s answer was obviously a cover for her incredulity at the absolute stupidity of the question.
Another was the Bush doctrine that Gibson himself was confused about. Her answer was ridiculed but nobody talked about the fact that Gibson didn’t know what it was.
The list goes on. We need to stop acting like these news people are so intelligent and start watching for and REPORTING their frequent stupid mistakes.
I agree and Sean Hannity and Rush both have made the point that professional journalism is virtually dead. By that they mean that - conservative, liberal or independent - many journalists (definitely the MSM) don’t have the old code of professional ethics that used to keep personal opinions and personal agendas confined to an editorial page. The N.Y. Times is the best example. It’s editorial page was always liberal. Fine. But now it disgraces true journalism by making its “hard news” columns editorials. And there are countless others. By the way, Charles Krauthammer made the point beautifully about Gibson not even knowing himself what the Bush doctrine is. But it doesn’t matter to most reporters because many simply have no sense of shame about not being informed and their lack of professional standards.
Absolutely, but I do think that people’s respect for journalists stems from a time when they did the research and wanted to provide an informed article.
I’m saying, we need to call them for what they are, a bunch of talking heads who aren’t the brightest bulbs in the chandelier.
