I had to ask when I heard an Aussie refer to a “lilo” - learned it was an air mattress. (lie, low)

“First love, Micheal Avardo (second grade) man I still remember how cute he was. I knocked him to the ground because he wouldnt give me a kiss (the first time), gave him a black eye the second time. Then I gave up. Oh, well.”
*guffaw* Can’t imagine WHY he resisted your girlish charms!
Whenever I had a crush, I was stunned silent & terrified to be caught looking at the target of my attraction lest I be noticed and mocked. Truly a painfully shy kid. Loved being a tomboy and playing with boys though, lots more fun than staying indoors, doing girly things.
Cute little kids, glad all turned out well for their elopement.

I am probably going to regret admitting this, but I met my wife in Donny Workman’s driveway when I was seven. She was five.
She was better on a pogo stick than I was.
There is some controversey over if we met before that.

We met again, when she was 14, and I was 16.
On the stairs, in my parent’s house. She was so quiet - she had nothing to say. There ought to be a truth in advertising law.

Then we met again, when I was a young paratrooper in the army, and she was a clerk in the local drug store.
The ladies of the drug store told her, “Go get thart soldier!”

Its not every day one marries one's childhood sweetheart! I worked for a while for a couple that did. It was more than sad when it fell apart, a few decades later....

And again, when I got home from Europe.
My brother threw a party, and invited us both, telling neither. We got married.

And again, twenty years later, when we remembered why we got married.
I love you, wife. ;)

What were these kids going to do for money? They obviously had enough to take the train to Hanover. Christmas money? Allowance? You do have to admire their initiative.
I can't wait for the movie, in which the kids actually get to Africa, where they have many excellent adventures.

They’re cute little suckers, but they need to spend a few weeks over the summer break studying geography.
