Can’t wait for the stories about Pelosi to come out. They will as her hands aren’t clean.
Is this strictly a democrat plan or are there RINO signatories?
Wow! Haven’t seen you here in a while. Nice to see you...
Nah. You and I find this stuff interesting, but the sheeple, the mindless chattering class?
What do they care?
In other news, Senate Majority Leader (Dirty) Harry Ried announced a change to the Senate Rules which will all a simple majority vote to end a filibuster .....
This isn’t possible. We’re living in the era of change! Yes we can! Can’t you feel the hope? Tingling in your leg?
...no?
This is a public relations opportunity that House Republicans simply CANNOT let slip by. The House of Representatives is the PEOPLES representation in federal government, and the exposure of Pelosi’s draconian measures need to exposed to the people:
1. Fire up the House Republican email engines. Craft a one-page email explaining in layman’s terms how this is a shut-out of their constituent’s voice in the HoR. Keep it simple, use bullet list of the affect, and call Pelosi out specifically.
2. Eric Cantor and other House Republicans need to stage a press conference outside of Pelosi’s office. Demand to be seen by the Speaker and have press present while they wait to be heard. The press conference needs to outline this is the people’s House, the constituents in Republican districts will not have a voice, and present the problems with Pelosi’s measures. In other words, it’s time for the House Republicans to use a little Saul Alinsky tactis on the Democrat leadership.
3. John Boehner’s office needs to contact the three cable news networks and get Boehner on the air. This fight needs to be a duel between Boehner and Pelosi. If he shows leadership on this to his party’s constituents, it will further vilify Pelosi. Use words like “coup” and “shut-out.”
4. If they have any interest in winning the PR war on this, they need to start now. By doing this after the rules changes take affect, they’ll look like whiners. They need to look like fighters.
And .. exactly what the democrats always do.
The dems whined and whined at the repubs when they took over congress because the repubs wouldn’t let the dems have any input .. but that was a lie .. and our friendly Newt changed the rules to placate the dems .. HORRIBLE MISTAKE!
You never give the dems an inch they will take 10 thousand miles.
It was amazing to see Pelosi on FOX sitting there next to Obama and saying they were going to get this new stimulus going - IN A BI-PARTISAN WAY - while she has that sickening grin on her face.
WHILE ALL THE TIME PELOSI IS MAKING PLANS TO CHANGE THE RULES TO MAKE IT EVEN MORE DIFFICULT FOR THE REPUBS TO HAVE ANY SAY WHATSOEVER.
We already know what “bi-partisan” means to the dems: “Do it our way or else” .. then the repubs are bi-partisan.
Good to see you back. I said some time ago that it’s looking like 1998 all over again...only this time the Dems have both houses. If there’s an upside it’s that a lot of FReepers are going to find out why this place exists.
“In reaction, the House Republican leadership is sending a letter today to Pelosi to object to changes to House Rules this week that would bar Republicans from offering alternative bills, amendments to Democrat bills or even the guarantee of open debate accessible by motions to recommit for any piece of legislation during the entire 111th Congress. These procedural abuses, as outlined in the below letter obtained by HUMAN EVENTS, would also include the repeal of six-year limit for committee chairmen and other House Rules reform measures enacted in 1995 as part of the Contract with America.”
Democrats are out to destroy American freedom, one abuse at a time.
I think this fable belongs on this thread:
The Scorpion and the Frog
One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.
The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn’t see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.
Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.
“Hellooo Mr. Frog!” called the scorpion across the water, “Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?”
“Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?” asked the frog hesitantly.
“Because,” the scorpion replied, “If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!”
Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. “What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!”
“This is true,” agreed the scorpion, “But then I wouldn’t be able to get to the other side of the river!”
“Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?” said the frog.
“Ahh...,” crooned the scorpion, “Because you see, once you’ve taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!”
So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog’s back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog’s soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.
Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog’s back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.
“You fool!” croaked the frog, “Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?”
The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog’s back.
“I could not help myself. It is my nature.”
Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.
All republicans and most democrats who work on the Hill can’t stand this woman. Seriously, just ask them and they will tell you. It’s really bad.
Only a handful of patriots who object to this and who know what the outcome will be will take a stand. But it will not be made widely public as the MSM buries it or covers it up.
It will pass, along with all the other countless assaults on this country and it's liberty. And the countless RINOs in the Legislature will sit passively by and let it happen without even a whimper.
P - lousy dirty politics ping
Pelosi Peron chanells Hitler
If the Pubbies had a spine, they would have done this while they were in charge. Then, if they kept to conservative principles instead of spending like drunken sailors, they would still be in control and the Dems would be weeping and gnashing their teeth.
Bet the MSM STILL finds a way to blame everything on the Pubbies, though.
It doesn’t look like we’ll have time to stop this in the forward direction, but if someone could post a list of who votes for it, I’d like to be able to send an email in retrospect.
