Found a pdf on the web that states the ship MV Alpha Aforovos docked in Karachi Port QASIM on October 6th 2008 and left on October 12th 2008.

NDTV: Navy & coast guard searching MV alpha. Found grenades, AK47, credit cards with pictures of terrorists per Twitter.

Anyone know how many terrorists were involved?
The reports seem conflicted.

YES! Show weakness and you get mauled. The Congress has done nothing but that on the domestic front.

Correction. The pdf document (just do a search on the ship name to find it) states that the MV Alpha Aforovos was scheduled to dock and expected to leave the Karachi Port on those dates listed above.

Interesting...I didn’t know that, about the Christian groups being front groups.
I had assumed they were your standard Christian missionary groups as found all over the world.
You still live in JoCo, by the way?

Ouch!
OK, it is more than a month ago, but the traces point towards Pakistan. This may still become a very serious international situation.

As per reported earlier on this thread, there is also a ship called MV Alpha Afovos. Looks like maybe some shenanigans with the ship name was done to cover the arrival of the Afovos as the Aforovos in Karachi ? Or are there two different ships. One named MV Alpha Afovos and one name MV Alpha Aforovos ? Anybody familiar with the significance of those words ?
To: justa-hairyape
Okay. The MV Alpha Afovos (GRT = 39000) is managed by a company called Friendly Maritime Services Inc. from the Philippines. It is a Cargo Vessel.
To: justa-hairyape
Here is the company
link.

Found another record that lists the MA Alpha Afovos as arriving in the Port Qasim (KPQI) on November 20th 2008. This table does not list departure dates. Link
here.

NDTV Link Prime Minister addressing India right now.
To: justa-hairyape
MA Alpha Afovos should read MV Alpha Afovos.

You are our point person on the ship angle...stay on it...:-) Gonna have to get some sleep. Got a bunch of Turkey to eat later today. Luckily I don't have to do the cooking. Just the eating. Can spend another 20 minutes, then someone on the East Coast waking up can pick it up the ball.
