Elect a Third World President and you get a Third World regime. Hounding and persecuting defeated political opponents takes place in all African countries. We are about to witness the spectacle of those who refuse to protect America from terrorism persecuting those who took bold and decisive action to protect America. If they overstretch, anything can happen, including civil conflict. What they are doing is very dangerous.

The answer to that is simple: We Won’t Have To.
Because the new Obama Civilian Defense Corps, which will be “separate from the military, as well-funded and well-equipped”, will most likely be doing the duty of supressing insurrections.
I foresee a multitude of Ruby Ridge-style incidents, Southern Poverty law Center being granted broad arrest powers by executive order, and and the growth of the camps.
And you and I will be powerless to stop it.
Thank you, Sheep, you will get the government you at last deserve.

The problem with your theory about jailing the opposition is a bit flawed. This administration will be out of power Jan. 20, 2009. The opposition is the Republicans in the House and Senate. The current Bush administration will have zero power anyways on Jan. 21, 2009.
I figured that those fools who voted for 0bama expecting “change” will become disillusioned with the first tax increases. This is one way to piss off a lot of people including some who voted for them. Look out 2010.
