The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace.

The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems.

He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time.

Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies.

It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty -- a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House.

~~~~
How brutally, grievously true. I weep at the despicable, vitriolic abuse and attacks this good man has suffered all these years.
God bless and protect him and his dear family, and grant Pres. Bush the peace and certainty of how much all he's done and is doing is appreciated by millions and millions of grateful, decent Americans.
We won't see his likes again soon, and we will be the poorer and less safe for it.
I have to agree. For a couple of years now, I’ve been wondering what unreasonable thing he’s done that could piss so many people off. But then I realize that life isn’t fair and many people are totally clueless.
Thank you for posting this.
I am proud to say I support President Bush, and in my 4 years here on FR, nobody could find a single post of mine trashing him even when it got “popular” to throw him under the bus.
I will miss him when he leaves office.
Bush deserves it. He did a great job as President and yet sat there like a punching bag for eight years and never had the stones to stand up and defend himself. He is probably as much to blame for the Republican slaughter as anybody.
And I will treat Barack Hussein Obama with the same respect our enemies have treated President Bush with over the last 8 years..I will NEVER call him President Obama (gag me!) but refer to him as Hussein. It’s a small thing but a slap in the face to all of my family memebers who voted for that piece of crap.
Mr. Bush has endured relentless attacks from the left while facing abandonment from the right.
The attacks are delivered by the Leftist Media of which the WSJ is a member.
Earlier this year, 12,000 people in San Francisco signed a petition in support of a proposition on a local ballot to rename an Oceanside sewage plant after George W. Bush.
San Francisco is sewage. If it wasn't for the fact that innocent people would be hurt I'd like to see an earthquake completely destroy San Francisco. A pox on their city.
What must our enemies think?
Probably the same thing the North Vietnamese did as they realized our defeat is to be had on our streets, courts and in our legislature, thanks to Socialist Democrats.
Starwise, I agree with everything you say about our President Bush. I hope he and his beautiful family have a wonderful life after he leaves office. He can lay his head down on his pillow everynight, in peace, knowing he did the best that he could for us. Yes, there are things I wish he did differently, but that doesn’t take away the goodness that is President Bush.
I will never forgive the media and the Dems for what they did to him, NEVER!
Karma will come to them. Everyone gets their comeuppance, somehow, someway, SOMEDAY.
It’s the continual character assassination of President Bush and the American people’s acceptance of it which led to the election of Barak Obama.
I think President Bush was a great president; like all great presidents, he had some failures, but overall, his successes were far greater.
However, we have had an unrelenting drumbeat from the MSM of vile negativity, just as we did with President Reagan. President Bush also split the base away from him with several key blunders, most especially with his strong support for illegal immigration which was hugely unpopular with his own constituents, and with his handling of the recent financial problems.
“The proposition is only one example of the classless disrespect many Americans have shown the president.”
Should read “many Democrats/Liberals.”
President Bush is a class act.
Neither McCain or the other one really come close IMO.
The contrast will be clearly seen in leadership quality in just a few short months...the quality of life under a real leader and under a boob like the one that just got elected.
God bless Pres. Bush.
Hell is paved with good intentions. I never doubted Bush’s intentions, but Bush suffered by trying to be all things to all men. Whatever you may think of Bush’s approval ratings you must acknowledge such low ratings had to include both liberal and conservative Republicans. By failing to exercise his veto powers more freely Bush conveyed an image of weakness which fully exploited by the MSM and the liberals.
Oh ho. The left is trying to diffuse the revenge which is coming.
We don’t it as stupidly as the left, ham-handed, traitorous bastards that they are.
Revenge is a dish best served cold. And boy are you ever going to be on the receiving end of a political nightmare.
