Amen. A somewhat dispirited, but wholehearted amen.

Thank you for doing this, Blogger.

I think a lot of that has to be between each individual and God.

Just know that God’s the ultimate authority to be obedient to!

This is such a bitter pill to swallow. And I cannot even watch television or view any media news online right now. Emotions are too raw, however I will pray so add me to your list.

Honestly, after I had already posted Saul, I thought about Ishmael. I have never heard of Jeroboam. Thanks for the interesting info! I am reading the Light and the Glory. Those early colonist were humbled for far less than what is going on today. Reading about Jeroboam made me think of just that.

Without that revelation that man is created in the image of God, our founders never would have recognized the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

How different "schools" are from those earliest schools. Heck, even from when I started school. So many people, so many children are clueless to what the foundation of this country were founded on. AND, there have been many to ensure the truth of history is not known. Even being known, we have reached a place where too many people don't care. Of all the things I do not know, I know this... if the Bible is true, then we can expect things to get progressively worse. So bad in fact, that at some point God will declare it is enough. If the Bible is true, I know that this is our time. We were predestined to live now. If the Bible is true, then we can look to it for examples of faith. Lot. Jonah. Abraham. on and on. In fact, I can look at this very election and see how miserable slaves may well rejoice in the election of a black person to POTUS. (I can't understand how a christian could pull that lever after witnessing Wright's rants... no matter what the color of one's skin. I can't understand how a citizen of this nation can undermine the most basic of our rights in the name of electing the first black person as POTUS.) The first of my family came over on the Swallow. (Well, there were others already here, but they were largely wiped out without record by Andrew Jackson.) So, I understand pride in my roots. But, pride in my country, pride in my family, pride in my God come first.

There have been terrible presidents before. Sam Grant, Andrew Jackson, LBJ... to name a few. This nation has survived. This nation has lived through ungodly periods.

I will pray for this new president because of this:
1 Timothy 2:1-2

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

These leaders will have to answer one day to God for their rule over us. I am praying they answer sooner than later. I am also praying that those foundational principles this country was founded on prevail until God himself decides otherwise. And now is not that time. I am praying for leaders to rise up renewed and invigorated in those foundational principles. I am praying for a citizenry enlighted, armed, and humble enough to stand for those very foundational elements that have made, and will continue to make, this the greatest country ever seen on this planet. It always has, and will, come down to one reason... that God himself is made known among all the people... of the world.

I apologize that this is a bit rambling. I am dealing with a slew of grandkids interupting... being kids.

Put me on the list. God reminded me that I am supposed to pray for my leaders no matter who they are. I will be obedient to the desire of the Most High.

After the fasting and praying of the last few days, I am at peace. God is my hope and provider.

and for that God has already judged America and given us the King

I don't wish to offend you, but I've read versions of this several times today and I'm SICK TO DEATH OF IT!

57 million Americans voted for McCain and Palin. Millions of Christians prayed, especially for Palin, who was pulled out of near-obscurity, mocked like no politician has ever been before -- and then LOST because slightly more than half the people in this country are amoral idiots.

God has judged America? NO. God has judged 52% of America and WE, the ones who prayed our rears off for months to no avail, are suffering for it.

Knock off this "we" and "America" stuff.

Post 150.

Amen.

We must keep our lamps filled with oil, burning brightly.

The ones who voted for Obama have already run out of oil.

= = =
Matthew 25
Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids
“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaids[a] who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, 4 but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. 5 When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6 “At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’

7 “All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. 8 Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’

9 “But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’

10 “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. 11 Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’

12 “But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’

13 “So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.

Today some folks at work invited me to lunch, but I declined saying that every since that early morning I had a deep rooted melancholy in me, even to the point of realizing I had shed a tear without intending it, ..and when I introspected upon why I felt as such, I recognized down deep I understood that once Obama had been elected there would no more....(recognizing some Obama supporters in the group hoping conservatives were glum, I then said) no more poverty!

The only thing more depressing, giving me a feeling I really wanted to sob, was recognizing some of them really believed what I had said, as one of them tried to console me. /black humor

Blogger your heart is in the right place, but right now the wound is very raw and sore. Obama is evil, allowing babies that survived abortions to die.!! If Hitler were just elected I would not pray for him!

I will pray for his salvation. I will pray for my country and for our Troops!

To quote Jeremiah Wright on a request for prayer thread is just plain wrong!

I love ya in the Lord!

Taj, his salvation is my primary prayer. Beyond that, we will have to see. Unless he gets saved, our nation is in horrible trouble.
