It’s no problem. I’m stressed, too, and have probably been more curt around here lately than I normally am. I imagine all of us around here are on edge. Take care of yourself, FRiend.

Sowell BTT. With respect to foreign policy it isn't Obama himself who is to fear, it's the people with track records who are advising and informing him. He has less experience in foreign affairs than any Private First Class, himself. But people such as Zbigniew Brzezinski and Anthony Lake have crafted his "realist" outlook and that scares hell out of me, because the last time that cast of characters formed our Middle East policy Iran went belly-up and we had hostages in enemy hands for 444 days.

We accommodated, we negotiated, we "understood the aspirations of oppressed peoples," we kowtowed, we cringed, and when it finally came to ordering a desperate military mission in to attempt to extract our people we ended up humiliated and a lot of good people ended up getting killed. It is the perpetrators of that act of war with whom Obama intends to sit down and have a heart-to-heart.

Were it not for a fantastically irresponsible dependence on foreign oil we'd have had more options when it came to dealing with this new, criminal Iranian regime. That dependence was not created by Bush and his Big-oil buddies, but by a coalition of liberals and NIMBYs who found it convenient to send money to the Saudis and kill domestic energy efforts as environmentally disruptive or politically incorrect. We've been paying for it ever since and they haven't learned, and they haven't given up.
