Last night I saw a post on FR (can’t remember where) that said the pollsters were running into a huge number of folks who refused to be polled — the number of 80% was mentioned.

If this is the case, can you imagine an Obama supporter being part of that 80%?

FWIW

I have to agree it might be close. Out here in West Michigan McCain seems strong. It’s that 98% voter fraud registration in Detoilet that concerns me.

Although, obviously, all these stories are anecdotal, I don't recall seeing and hearing as many such reports in any other election.

Except 1980!

“Guess you don’t frequent the Detroit area eh?”

I'm sooo bad, I vacation in Detroit!/sarc.

Nobody visits detoilet. The Detroit population is half what it was 20 years ago. About 35% are convicted felons and can't vote anyway.

John Engler was a very conservative Gov and he won here every time he ran without Detroit.

In just the past few years the following passed on the statewide ballots....

Banned affirmative action

Banned Queer marriage and Queer partnerships

Passed “shall issue” CCW

Hardly the liberal state that many think it is.

I live in the Bronx, and I doubt Mac will take our state.

But, there is quite a lot of apathy here. No one is very politically active since it is basically a 85/15/10 (other) split dems to reps here in the Bronx, at least. Democrats have almost complete authority here, and win every election regardless of who is running.

I have seen NO obama signs. 1 mc cain sign (2 if you include me) and 1 McCain bumper sticker.

But yes, this is a morale booster. I am feeling much better these days, and praying!!

My wife has been lurking in the PUMA discussion boards.

They have said that their tactics are to ALWAYS say they are voting for Obama but will NOT do it.

The Clinton faction in this election is significant. I hope they're as numerous as what we're led to believe from what we've seen online.

The People’s Republik of Kalifornia and the Kleptocracy of New Jersey breaking for McCain/Palin?
Inconceivable!

I do believe there is a concerted effort by the Obama camp and the willing accomplices in the MSM to depress Pubbie turnout. That's a fact at not some right wing paranoia. They have used these polls as part of a psycholical warfare operation against us. This was Obama’s plan all along to depress turnout for his opponent cause he knew he could’nt get a plurality to accept naked Marxism. I like Rove’s answer on Greta last night that he refused to play this polling prognostication game, due to the fact they are all over the place, and we have some unprecedented variables this election. He said it and it ain't sexy but it's true, if we have a record Republican turnout , we win, period. We get all down in the dumps and act lie a bunch of babies with a cold wet turd in our diapers like some here want to do , we lose.

I think Carl/Karl is a troll, but uses the phone instead of the keyboard.
How can you trust someone who only calls in and all you know is what they tell you, no last name, no history, no proof?
I myself could call these shows every day and tell them what they want to hear, if nothing else, to keep McCain voters home - why should I vote? Mac’s got it wrapped up! GReat, I can now stay home and watch my favorite old western movies with John Wayne. No need to get out, Karl has said Mac’s got it in the bag!
Sorry, call me Garfield the Cat, my kids used to.......

And that’s what, a few thousand? The dead have the PUMAs outnumbered. I’ve seen nothing to indicate that they are more than a few thousand vocal minority......
Sorry, I’m getting SKEPTICAL! The Puma boards are also full of the same people posting day after day, no indication there’s thousands of members, dozens, maybe.
Like I said, the felons and dead have them outnumbered.

I just heard “Tyrone from Salt Lake City” say on WBET that Obama’s internals have him taking Utah by 18!

Maybe so, but my job takes me to all of the “garden spots”, (Detroit,Flint,Saginaw,Pontiac) and you can barely see the slums for the Obama signs.

Playing ads during the NFL games is fantastic! Not sure I want to be watching my Cowboys play the Giants this weekend though. :( They started strong and now they suck.

Although I was pretty surprised they beat the Bucs last Sunday. You shoulda seen Chucky during that game. I’m getting the idea now why they call him that. Geez, that dude is scary.

I have never seen so many websites of Democrats pulling for the GOP candidate.

If Carl really thinks McCain is going to carry New Jersey, Michigan and California, or Pennsylvania by 22, then he’s seriously off his medication.

Uh, sure - attack me because I’m calling BS on this post? That’ll get you far...

McCain +1 in CALIFORNIA???
McCain +5 in NEW JERSEY???
McCain +22 in PENNSYLVANIA???

Somone is jerking your chain and you’re willingly blind to the deceit.

The election will be a lot closer than most realize - lots of shocking moments to be sure, but these supposed ‘internal’ numbers are so statistically out of reality to be laughable.

There is an increasingly wide path to victory for McCain each day toward the election and I think he’s got a better than 30% chance of pulling it off - I hope so.

I didn't, either. The informant is a client and I was unsure of her own politics, although she has received the usual nannying from progressive minders, so I didn't ask much more after she volunteered this. She did add, with a shrug, that “everyone is racist, I know that I certainly am” and went on to say that since the blacks could vote on race, so could she.

Rich progressives fear for their own wealth, already lessened in the credit meltdown. There are stories around from RNs about big cutbacks in elective surgical procedures and therefore, also in the surgery departments of a large regional hospital due to increased co-pays. Many of our rich progressives are MDs.

I can believe old hippies would vote Nader or stay home. There is a huge creepiness factor with zerO. The organic food/dairy industry that employs most of the hippies is experiencing its own money problems since it has become a corporate enterprise itself. The word may be out (I don't know this for sure) that under “collective capitalism”, there will be job cuts.

Another faction of old hippies are either trust kids looking at reduced distributions if the principal is to last or expectant inheritors whose elderly parents suddenly find they cannot afford their retirement expenses, let alone have anything to leave to the *kids*.

You can google “collective capitalism”. It has been a buzz word from the local organic dairy co-op BOD for over a year and a half. Unfortunately, their profits are very much diminished in the past 8-9 months.

There is a thread of anarchist and libertarian thinking among the old and young hippies. The idea of large intrusive government would not be something they’d support.

Yeah that’s true Miss Didi, but do you know where our good Prez Bush got most of his votes (raw numbers) both in 2000 and 2004? NEW YORK Don’t know why that shocked me, there’s lots of folks there, huh.
