Yes, CO is trending more blue, but I'm not sure we can base anything on 2006. First, it's an off year. Second, the Republicans were hammered as the party of corruption. Clearly, that isn't happening now. We'll see.
Personally, I think if we clear VA, McCain is safe.

Northern Va will go Obama, big. Richmond will go Obama, big. I was riding around the Charlottesville countryside this weekend and was surprised by the number of Obama signs.
I once thought VA couldn't go Obama. I now think we will.

Virgina beach is a toss up. I live in Gloucester and this area will go McCain. Richmond will also go for Obama. The rest of the state traditionally goes GOP.

It’s over if we lose VA.

McCain will hold Colorado this year....Hopefully it won’t drift any further towards the left.

What happened? McCain happened. Jefferson's state doesn't like big government "conservatives". Anybody else would probably keep VA in the fold.
To: Norman Bates
All it comes down is to turnout. If we get our base out, we’ll be fine.
To: Swing_Thought
You’re pulling our leg......They don’t like big government McCain so they’ll go with Obama instead. LOL!!

Baloney. McCain’s less big gov’t than Bush. And Obama much more.

All it comes down is to turnout. If we get our base out, well be fine. The other side's base is really energized. My gut tells me we're not. Heck, I'm going to the polls to vote for my Congresswoman Drake, who voted against the bailout twice, and for Gilmore, who said he would have voted against it. While I'm there I guess I'll (reluctantly) pull the lever for McCain too.
But my gut tells me it's lights out for McCain here. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt I am.

How much digging did you have to do to come up with this really, really impressive poll?
"THE POLL: Virginia Commonwealth University, presidential race in Virginia among likely voters" and were any of the responses from anyone other than colletch students?

McCains less big govt than Bush. True dat. :-)
But dat ain't sayin' much.

Yep with President Obama and the supermajority in the Senate, they will cut the military by 25% at mininum and probably even more in order to paty for new welfare programs hes currently advocating for. The loss of funding to the military complex in CO is gonna hurt ALL the residents...trickle down economics, Obama-style! Same for New Mexico.

Voting is pointless. Think of all the time and money wasted, all they have to do is appoint ACORN to make a few phone calls and bingo, we have a winner.
