Delaying has cost Sen. Obama trust. Even if he has a COLB that is an original and in perfect order, the cost of delaying this hurts him deeply.

Why?

Because Sen. McCain has been so very open with his birth certificate and health records. Would that Sen. Obama had been so open and timely, the accusation of his ineligibility would never have gained momentum.

If Sen. Obama was hoping to crush the momentum with a fantastic display of “presto! here it is, not a fake, completely original...HA HA!” then his potential employer (the American people) will wonder, “Well why the hell didn't you provide this in the first place? What took you so long to deliver? What was more important than providing evidence to your employer that you meet the minimum for the job? Because it would be better for the country if Obama is defeated by the voters instead of the courts.

Dont forget the image Gore drew to himself when he
tried to use the courts against the “will of the people”.

If McCain has to, he will use this... but he has to do it in a way that protects the institution of free and fair elections.

McCain will not use this unless he can prove that the will of the people was subverted.
