My sophomore year, I and a couple of my buddies got into trouble with the old maid geometry teacher.
Fortunately, our homeroom teacher, who also was an old maid told the geometry teacher that if she flunked us, besides putting up with us for another year, she would be very embarrased when we challenged her in front of the school board. Then showed them that we were smarter than she was.
My D went from a possible F to and A-.
