“Whoever” was himself. If he was adopted, his name is Barry Soetoro, unless he legally changed it to Barrack Hussein Obama. If he did change it himself, then HE gave himself the middle name “HUSSEIN”.
If he, himself, has not legally changed his name back to Barrack Hussein Obama, wouldn’t the ballots have to say Barry Soetoro “Barrack Hussein Obama”?
I know it’s a foolish question, because Obama does not have to follow the laws that the rest of us do.

I thought McCain’s jokes were better, but his timing certainly wasn’t perfect. The one that sticks out in my mind was when McCain talked about how there must be someone in the room supporting him and then references Hillary. The timing there was way off, but there were people laughing before the punchline, so it wasn’t entirely his fault.
Actually, everyone always compliments Palin for her lipstick joke at the RNC, but I have to say, her timing was off too. She said “lipstick” about a second too soon. There was no buildup.
Of course, none of these people are comedians... :)

Quite honestly, I didn't know if it was a benefit or another honor the media gathering, or what the heck it was. They made jokes about the bailout and I do find that very offensive.

Depending on the charity, you very well could be correct. People are free to party and donate to their hearts' content without flack from me. Just don't joke about your wonderful role in the government during difficult times.

The timing on that joke was off because McCain was forced to allow the laughter to subside from his earlier comment (that was part of the joke).

What is most frightening about the current market-economy is that our political leaders have not clearly identified the cause. Have you noticed that Chis Dodd, the chairman of the Banking committee calls it a “foreclosure crisis”?
You seemed to indicate that somehow a dinner detracted from correcting our massive problems. Correcting our massive problems will require the government to stop requiring/facilitating banks to give mortgages to illegal aliens (governor of wisconsin) and other people who cannot-will not be able to pay them.
If you want to graduate from just dumb blonde status, make judgements about root causes and what the real corrections are rather than just stamping your foot and saying a pox on both their houses.
The ten-minute video is GREAT except for the first sleepy 90 seconds. Spice it up! Make a better ending! LIST at the end, Ayer’s CURRENT outrageous garbage, and put Obama’s judgement of him up: “Respectable”
I don’t recall McCain made any jokes about the economy or the bailout.
He joked that Joe the Plumber got a lucrative contract on 7 houses (or some such, about the Mccains’ houses). He made a bunch of funny jokes about Bill Clinton. He made lots of good jokes about Obama. Then he paid Obama a bunch of compliments, and then got him again by raising (jokingly) expectations of how funny Obama would be.
In fact all of McCains jokes were either self-deprecating ones about himself, or about Obama & Clinton that I recall. The only one that could be construed about the bailout was one about suspending a campaign.
McCain is not a smooth talker but his jokes were very funny and everyone was laughing hard.
I got that, thank you. What I didn't like was a bunch of these goons in tuxes laughing about it. You may disagree, and it ain't no skin off my nose. Politics has become a game, a charade, a chest-beating contest and the taxpaying citizens pay the price.

What the heck is wrong with passing judgment on the part that I saw? Some folks have things to do that prevent them from delighting in the attempted humor of our political candidates for a couple of hours. I’m pretty sure that I can form an opinion on the parts that I viewed. Thanks.
No credit to Obama, but don’t you know anything about jokes? He says “whoever” precisely because everyone knows he got his name from his father. Just part of the joke of having a name that’s not an asset to say the least.

Most Islamic parents name their sons Mohammed “to honor the Prophet”. It can be a first, middle or last name.
Barry may be laughing up his sleeve and will continue to snark at us white Christians, as long as his true birth certificate is never revealed.
