I am in N. Broward plus S. Palm Beach. This is probably the most Dem area in the state. Jewish voters were booing Wexler (at least half the crowd) at condos when Wexler the carpetbagger comes to town to shill for Obama.
My guess is the Cuban American vote ties Dade and hopefully the Cuban American vote makes sure Dade does not have rampant vote theft. Broward has a Repub sheriff because the Dem sheriff went to jail. Hopefully vote fraud in Broward is kept to a minimum.
I think Florida should be safe if the market does not kill all of us.
I talked to my savvy friend tonight and he said McCain could win if he comes out and says “people are going to go to jail” for what happened in this financial mess.
He said Pat Buchanan would get a elected if he was up there saying it. He thinks McCain may have blown it. He thinks both McCain or Obama could have said that at the last town hall but neither did. He said if McCain said it, he would be a shoo in for President.
My guess is the people who should go to jail are ex Fannie & Freddie execs. I agreem McCain should be saying this.
These polls are pretty much in line with other public polls. I’m all for being optimistic, but you can’t be serious and say all the polls are wrong. I’m worried about the senate. The Fox panel on Brit Hume predicted a filibuster proof senate. That’s scary. It’s totally unfair and unjustified, but the market is just killing the Republicans right now. We need a rally in the stock market and a little thawing in the credit markets for us to have a shot.
I agree...a few weeks ago the 0bama team decided to invest $39 million in Florida...remember hussien’s speech, “even though I can win the election without winning Florida, McCain can’t win the election without winning Florida”??
thus far it seems to be working....need to get Palin there and guiliani there and lieberman there full force....
and to me therein lies the problem with the McCain campaign....
yeh- hit ayers but james johnson is a much better target considering how he cooked the books at fannie mae, his $90mill in six years, the campaign contributions he made to the rats, his association with hussien, etc....
McCain should be putting twice as much effort into slamming the johnson/hussien connection rather then hussien/ayers...
i agree... i think they are insane for voting liberal at all...
Agree. Johnson and Raines. They were FAR worse then Ken Lay, Skilling and even Bernie Ebbers at Worldcom. They wiped out shareholders but Johnson and Raines wiped out the global finanacial system plus many companies at this point.
McCain needs to come out and say “ people are going to go to jail for this.”
All public polls that do not oversample Democrats indicate a race that’s statistically tied nationally and tend to favor McCain in terms of state polls. These flawed polls form the basis of Real Clear Politics’ averages as well as electoral vote predictors.
Take Virginia, for example. The demographics of this state have not changed much since 2004. In that year, Bush won by 8 points, and Republicans had a four-point advantage in the demographics. In 2006, possibly the worst year for Republicans in my lifetime, they had a three-point advantage. Now, go look at the polls that Real Clear Politics is using in Virginia.
1) PPP has Obama up by 8. A closer look at the internals shows they undersample whites by 5 percent and oversample blacks by 4. Democrats also have a five-point advantage in party identification.
2) Survey USA has Obama up by 10. They oversample blacks by 3% and give Democrats a nine-point advantage.
3) Suffolk has Obama up by 12. Their internals show that they too oversample blacks, undersample whites, oversample women, and oversample Democrats (by a 45-31 margin).
The closest thing to a balanced poll is Rasmussen, who has Obama up by 2. The demographics available look reasonable. What we do is that Rasmussen uses a party weighting system that’s not accurate nationwide and certainly not accurate for this state.
You can choose to believe manufactured polls if you want. You probably thought Kerry was taking Pennsylvania in 2004 by a 20-point margin as well.
I'm never one for conspiracy rtheories... But I truly believe that the Dems caused the economic mess... I'm not talking solely FHLMC and FNMA, I'm talking anout sevetal months of a concerted effort to talk down the economy... To depress consumer sentiment... To bring these financial disasters at the most opportune time... Sandwiches so gracedully smack between our GOP convention and the election... Coincidence? please...
The msm will stop at nothing to get zero elected... If that means they destroy innocents like Palen, so be it.. If they destroy the economy--- well worth it, it's just collateral damage....never underestimate their powert to influence
I agree. McCain is sitting on the verge of a 40 state loss, the largest defeat handed to a Repub since Goldwater.
I have to disagree. McCain HAS to win PA. He’s throwing everything at it. If Obama wins PA and VA this thing will be over. Obama doesn’t have to win FL or OH to win after that.
I say again, PA is a must win for McCain. Even if Obama doesn’t win VA, he will still likely win the election if he hangs on to CO and NM, IF he hangs on to PA. You will see HUGE McCain money being spent in PA in the last weeks.
I still think it’s dang likely that the 5-8% of undecideds will break for McCain after deciding that Obama is just too risky at close to the last minute.
You are right. Obama is the next President for sure. Better not show up on elections day. Let us all surrender to Jeremiah Wright apprentice.
Let us not vote because it is all over.
No one’s saying that. We’re frustrated that McCain chooses to NOT engage... These ads are good, but they each reach a sliver of the audience... When he has 130 million eyes and ears focused on the debates, he does NOTHING. Pathetic.
