One Senator had the guts to say it. Only one.

I wish I sould vote for him.

Instead I’ve got Senator Porno and will soon have Senator Android.

I believe those who have crafted this plan had pure and noble motives. They want this country to succeed. They want prosperity.

LOL...

We need to support repubs like him and run off rinos. I will not vote for any more rinos. Martinez from Florida is out.

Senator DeMint is risking his seat. The SC people who will reelect Lindsey Graham on November 4 may turn on him in 2010.

I would imagine that there is a strong likelihood that FL’s Martinez will be unopposed in the primary in 2010.

If that happens then it is time to turn out the lights and go home. A republic can only survive so many foolish voters.

He's certainly a pariah among his peers. I expect him to be shunned as though he had leprosy. The Senate is toxic to good people, and I wish for Senator DeMint to find a good life outside of the Senate. It might do his soul and his finances good to resign his seat, and let Congress do its will (and drive the country into its third-world place in a one world government) without his input.

Let me say again that I know every one of my colleagues is doing what they believe is right for America.

And there is one of the problems with Republicans, I DON'T think every one of those people is doing what is best for America, they are doing what is best to DESTROY America, since they HATE her.

“Last week, we passed a bill with the highest rate of pork spending in history. While our talk of gloom and doom has heightened the financial panic here and around the world, and while we are asking Americans to bail us out, we are still spending money as if there is no tomorrow.”

Quote of the Day.

Thank you, Senator DeMint.
And thank you, Choldt for the great post.

Amen! One House member in our state voted against it in the house. Wasn't it Barrett. He is not my house member but I will support him also. God Bless these two statesman.

The Republican mantra, “strategy” is never do the right thing. It might just risk your seat. SO what’s the point of being there anyway?

God bless you, Senator DeMint! Very well said! It is sad that most of the other senators (including McCain) didn’t listen.

I called my congressman and told him that if the bailout passes, I’ll never again buy another house of a new car. My only credit card (for emergencies) went in the trash this morning.

Why would I when my responsible behavior is punished to pay for the irresponsible behavior of others.

As a South Carolinian, I am extremely proud of Jim Demint and have told him so. Unfortunately, our senior senator, Lindsey Grahamnesty “Lapdog” McCain, is a disgrace. For the first time in my life, I will be voting for a Democrat this November and I hope Bob Conley defeats Graham for a seat in the U.S. Senate.

He sure did and I sent him a note to thank him. That speech will be remembered as the last voice of freedom before the “socialism experiment”. I just wish conservatives would name names instead of saying “we did this”, etc. We didn't do this unless the we is Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Gorelek, Raines, Johnson, et al. Don't you think if there was a republican involved anywhere that hearings would have started already? The conservatives might have been big panzies when it came to stopping it, but it was not their baby.

Remarkable person to have such integrity.

Sadly, he is out of place in the US Senate.

All the Senators ought to be like him.
