Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A researcher who has spent over a decade examining the economic impact of abortion finds that the approximately 50.5 million abortions in the U.S. since 1970 have cost the American economy $35 trillion. That comes in the form of lost productivity by having fewer workers contributing to society.

Bellevue, NE (LifeNews.com) -- An elderly pro-life woman who had been trying to talk women heading to an abortion business out of having their abortion has been violently attacked. Mary Adam, 72, was knocked to the ground and injured outside a Omaha-area abortion center by the mother of a young woman who had changed her mind.

Some North Texas Catholics are upset with a letter written to them by their local bishops, saying it amounts to an endorsement of John McCain for president.
"I was personally offended," said Phillip Archer of Dallas. "My bishop basically told me that if I vote for Barack Obama, I will go to hell."
The letter by Bishop Kevin Farrell of the Diocese of Dallas and Bishop Kevin Vann of the Diocese of Fort Worth says in part: "To vote for a candidate who supports the intrinsic evil of abortion or 'abortion rights' when there is a morally acceptable alternative would be to cooperate in the evil and, therefore, morally impermissible."

Never has the selection of a homecoming queen sent so many tears falling so freely.
Kristin Pass, an 18-year-old senior with Down syndrome, became Aledo High School's homecoming queen Friday to a joyous standing ovation and the flutter of a thousand tissues on a remarkable night for an amazing young woman.
Hyphenated conservatives aren’t really conservatives at all. Being a greedy liberal does not make one a fiscal-conservative. Advocating fiscal policies to fund liberal policies is not fiscal-conservatism.
Conservatism is more than the sum of its parts. It’s a whole way of thinking; of viewing the world; of being. And it doesn’t include killing off Granny to save Social Security.
Generally, a hyphenated-conservative is nothing more than a libertarian and libertarians are often nothing more than liberals or anarchists who don’t like taxes and don’t want ANYONE to interfere with their guns, porn, prostitutes or drugs.
“I’m a fiscal conservative but I’m pro-abortion” crowd needs to be shown just how closely the two are connected.”
The liberals are killing their social security, as well.

LONDON, October 15, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A man who was found guilty of murdering his unwilling elderly wife by smothering her with two plastic bags has escaped a jail sentence in a ruling by London's Central Criminal Court.
Eric Norton, 86, was apparently in high spirits at the end of last week's trial, and blew a kiss to supporters in the public gallery on his way out of the courtroom, according to Independent Television News.
Last November, Norton smothered his 84-year-old wife Betty, an Alzheimer's sufferer who was in the hospital for stomach pains. Other hospital patients said they could hear Betty whimpering "no, no" as she struggled to stop her husband from killing her.
Alzheimer’s is so often over diagnosed. It’s like “tag, you’re it.” Results similar to PVS term usage.

Denver, CO (LifeNews.com) -- The pro-life advocates who are supporting Amendment 48, the November ballot measure that would define human life beginning at conception, rolled out their final campaign to support the initiative. The Yes on 48 Campaign released their first statewide television and radio ads.
Titled, "Greed," the ads focus on the reasons for the lies and deceit coming from pro-abortion opponents of Amendment 48 and the radical special interest funding these groups are trying to maintain.

Recently, a politician made a promise. Politicians usually do. If this politician fulfills his promise, not only will many of our freedoms as Americans be taken from us, but the innocent and vulnerable will spill their blood. On April 18, 2007, in Gonzales v. Carhart, The Supreme Court upheldthe Partial-Birth Abortion Ban. The very next day prominent Democratic members of Congress reintroduced the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). The bill is misleadingly packaged as a freedom bill. It is not! It is a clear act of unreasoned bias to end abruptly and brutally the debate on the pressing and fundamental moral issue of the right to life.

NCR: Speaking of engaging the issues of the day, as you and I speak were 25 days away from election day in the United States. What should pastors across the country be saying in the pulpits?
Archbishop Wuerl: I think one of the things that all of us need to recognize is that in a democracy, in the United States, every single person bears responsibility for what happens in the country. We may be multiple levels removed from final decisions, but every one of us bears a responsibility. When you vote, you vote as conscientiously as you can, and then you can say before God, I did my best to see that this country is moving in a direction thats in conformity with your gospel. I think the big challenge is to convince all of our faithful people that each one of us has a responsibility.
And let’s not forget that, BY DEFINITION, patients with advanced Alzheimers are INCAPABLE of making a decision.
That’s why I’m for McCain-Palin. McCain’s not perfect but Barack Obama is the standard bearer for the party of death (not natural, peaceful death). He’s for federal and state sanctioned killing.
These bastards STILL want to torture Haleigh!

Fourteen-year-old Haleigh Poutre may still be called as a witness in the trial of her stepfather, who is accused of participating in her near-fatal beating three years ago.
Haleigh Poutre |
Haleigh, a Westfield girl who was once at the center of a national end-of-life controversy, remains at a pediatric rehabilitation facility in Brighton. Though she lapsed into a coma in the fall of 2005 and nearly had her life support removed, she has recovered to the point that she can speak some simple words and attend a day school.
And Sarah is a true Godsend.
I’m SLOWLY getting the hang of how 8mmm does this, but PLEASE let me know if I need to do it differently.
How is it possible that he has supporters? I see them frequently, even on FR, but I still don’t understand how it’s possible for such evil to exist this far from the flames.
I wish I knew. . .
