He did say that on Thursday before the debate and IT COULD HAVE BEEN BUT McCain blew it at the debate...he should have said, “I've just come from Washington where I was able to get the house republicans a voice on the bailout, there is TOO MUCH PORK in the bill”...
instead when asked if he would vote for the bill he mumbled around...
I told my husband he was probably didn't have much time because of all the traveling around. My husband said "Hell he was on a airplane for 2 hours or more that gave him plenty of time to get down his strategy, HE BLEW IT!"
The American people have the attention span of the last Seinfeld Rerun.
Sure McCain needs to fight, but Political history has always proved that the best time to go negative and release dirt is the last 10 days of the Election.
Gore did this and erased a 6 to 8 point Bush lead in 2000.
You go hard too soon ,and people forget.
WHY?
Morris is just mad that he put his advice in writing before the debate, and McCain has not followed it to date.Think about what you just said... McCain ignored the advice of the guy who accomplished the impossible and actually succeeded in getting Clinton elected twice!
I listen to Dickie, but also remember he gave us 8 years of the Toon................
Morris is always wrong in his predictions, so this actually makes me more optimistic.
Yep! He needs to drop that calling himself a Maverick crap now.
You may be right but he has lost the MO and it”appears” that he is not fighting. I hope he is not being bipaetisan John while odumbo and the savages(reid pelosi)are playing for keeps
I was telling my wife last week that it seems he has given up and I guess I am not the only one who feels that way
Once. Morris did not work with Bubba in 1992. That was Carville.
That’s exactly it. McCain has taken the stance that we need to come together to pass this bill. (I wish that wasn’t his stance, but that’s the one he took.) He has also said that Obama needs to rise above politics so Congress can pass this bill.
The only consistent option now is for McCain to try to “rise above politics” to help get this bill passed. The problem with that is: 1) few people want the bill passed, and 2) Obama is not rising above politics- he’s campaigning.
Obama got way ahead when he refused to join McCain in the suspension of his campaign. It sounded brilliant at the time, but in retrospect, it was a dumb move.
I am so tired of this crap.
No matter. If ranting like this gives you some form of psychic comfort, keep it up.
Excellent News. Whatever Dickie Morris the Toe Sucker predicts, the exact opposite turns out to be true.
Let us hope. He needs to fight I agree, but Dick Morris is no reason to change strategy.
There is a reason Morris is just a TV guy now.
I've seen the videos and engage in viral politics.
The problem is you don't understand the playing field.
The playing field is not on national TV its the net. and McCain is using it. You can't break through on TV because they rigged the game. But They (MSM)don't control the net.
There is an army out here working right now (I have recruited 12 people myself.)
Tell me are you sitting around complaining about what McCain is not doing and nothing else?
Search the videos out, post them on message boards other than FR. Mail 10 friends with these videos and ask them each to mail it to ten friends.
TV is dead, this battle is on the net.
Get in the fight.
Excuse me? They had to vote down the bailout bill because voters were tying up the lines telling them not to do it.
It’s possible to overcome dumb moves. Elections can close very quickly. Carter and Reagan were basically tied until the last week of the campaign and RR won by a landslide. I would rather keep my powder dry rather than come out and rant and rave like a fool.
For whatever reason, Morris is almost always 180 degrees off from reality. In fact, McCain has GAINED in several polls in the last few days. All he has to do is SHUT UP about the bailout, since he can’t seem to say anything constructive.
I recruited 5 new voters for McCain/Palin today.
