Thanks.

When you look at the crowd, with everyday people and no "celebrities", it brings hope that America has a future.

I'm so glad NOT to see the Hollywooder's in the Palin crowd, and see ordinary, hard-working, decent folks like those all over fly-over country have something to be EXCITED about, with a future first female POTUS in those pictures (let alone, the first Female Vice President, too).

Great Job!

Something big is going on here.....

Home-made tee-shirts, Signs, and Artwork, this is not normal in a positive sense.

Someone should send a link of this thread to Chris Matthews.

Something else will be running down his leg after he sees it, and it won't be a tingle....

I arrived at the park at 2 p.m. and the event started at 4. I probably entered the pavillion at about 4:30. But honestly, the time just flew by. You're surrounded by decent, friendly folks. Everyone is chatting, and checking out signs and souvenirs. It was fun.

At the back of the pavillion there was a large stage where the handicapped could sit. They probably had the best seats in the house! Lots of people just stayed outside in the park and watched on the bigscreen.

Col. Chuck Yeager was in attendance and Palin said since he knew how to break the sound barrier, maybe he could help break the “glass ceiling.”

Have faith. East TN is a solid Republican region, yet The President landed at Tri-Cities airport for a brief event ... I was there and there were nearly ten thousand who turned out in 2000! I didn’t get there early enough and could only take photos from more than five-hundred yards away! The liberal press in Bristol, VA tried to claim a mere five hundred showed up, but i have the long range photos that prove it was more than eight thousand were there in the crowd. I even sat down at the kitchen table one afternoon with a pencil and tried to count as many heads as I could. I stopped at more than eight thousand and couldn’t get a count on all the ones inside the airport hanger where he spoke. It may be a brief stop, but McCain/Palin will come to Alabama, probably in Montgomery or B’ham, or both! Remember, Montgomery has a large Airforce/Military presence and is full of good Christian people of all races, so they would get a very warm reception.

Not sure I’m good with Todd signing autographs, it’s getting kind of celebrity in itself.

Small nit to pick. Yeager retired as a Brigadier General.

As I said in that post, I am GREATLY HEARTENED that the Pubbies may now be able to keep Obama out of the White House.

But if this rock star adoration thing continues around Palin, we shall have to hire someone to follow her around and — as was the case with politicians in ancient Rome — whisper in her “You are only human.”

Just trying to head off the rush of worshippers to the alter of some NEW false gods (who, in case you haven’t noticed, have feet of clay and, like the rest of us, put their pants on one leg at a time).

Gee, I thought this phenom was limited to the followers of the Obamessiah.

Sad — and DANGEROUS — that it also appears to be a problem among conservatives.

And if pointing out a potential hazard which is borne out by all of human history makes me a gravedigger, please pass the shovel.

but honest-to-God Todd Palin made my jaw drop!”

This is what a man can look like after 20+ years of happy marriage, and a full family.
