David Plouffe, the Obama campaign manager

NEW FUNDRAISING PRESSURES EMERGING FOR OBAMA CAMPAIGN

a new sense of urgency in Sen. Barack Obama’s fundraising team is palpable as the full weight of the campaign’s decision to bypass public financing for the general election is suddenly upon them.

Pushing a fundraiser later this month, a finance staff member sent a sharply worded note last week to Illinois members of Obama’s national finance committee, calling their recent efforts “extremely anemic.”

“We’re very confident in our strategy and in our message, and we are focused like a laser beam on states like North Carolina and Virginia”

These people are ignoramuses. They're so dumbfounded by McCain/Palin they're resorting to 1960s-era cliches.

“Today is the first day of the rest of the campaign,” Obama campaign manager David Plouffe says in a campaign strategy memo. “We will respond with speed and ferocity to John McCain’s attacks and we will take the fight to him, but we will do it on the big issues that matter to the American people.”

Obama fighting a stomach bug

after a week of trying to break through the Sarah Palin media frenzy, Obama was supposed to hold a big rally with his running mate Joe Biden in Manchester, NH, and then make an appearance on Saturday Night Live. But now, because of Ike, Obama is skipping SNL, and Biden is skipping Manchester.

Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki explained, “In light of the unfolding crisis in Texas, Senator Obama has decided it is no longer appropriate to appear on Saturday Night Live tomorrow evening.”

here is at least the hint from Obama aides that he pulled some punches because of the storm (as well as the fact that the Illinois Senator is fighting a stomach bug).

"Despite a recent poll showing Sen. John McCain taking 50 percent of the vote in Virginia, Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign manager says the historically red state still is “enormously competitive.”'

Translation: We didn't plan on fighting for this state and we are diverting funds here to try and keep it.

I’m almost at the point that I don’t care if we lose. Since we nominated Palin, I have been LMAO on a daily basis. It only gets better every day, this election has turned into SATIRE.

“Plouffe added that Virginia’s viewers will see two new television ads — one talking about change and another calling McCain “out of touch” for, among other things, not knowing how to send e-mail. “

The ad doesn’t say that McCain doesn’t “know” how to send an e-mail, it says that he “can’t”.

I drive down a street in VA every now and then. Here is what I have seen:

2004: 15 Kerry signs.

2008: 1 Obama sign.

There is a lack of enthusiasm for him this year.

Obama team upbeat in Va.

At 7:45 p.m. on Election Day in 2004, John Kerry was "leading" in the Virginia exit polls.

I'm just sayin'...

WTF did the newspaper article expect Obama’s team to say? “Are you kidding?! VA was always a pipe dream! It’s a lost cause! Oh, yeah, and we’re getting our butts kicked all over the nation!”
