This was my thought regarding this too. There is no comparison between the 'policy' of the two parties in this regard. Compare the number of Republicans vs. Democrats 'destroyed' in this manner in the last ten years. I can't name one Dem. (p.s. John Edwards wasn't 'destroyed' by Republicans).

This 'moral equivalence' makes me think of how some equate the actions of the U.S. armed forces with the murderous Islamic extremists or Israel with the Palestinian terrorists. It just doesn't hold water.
