I saw Quinn on BOR last night and my wife and I surmised then exactly what you opined, namely Quinn - the “doyenne” of the Washington social/political scene - got religion real fast after she saw the once-in-a-lifetime speech by Sarah on Wed. night. Quinn certainly had an Ebeneezer Scrooge like vision of the ghost of Washington parties future, as the most visible and popular woman in the world through McCain’s and Palin’s terms (potentially encompassing the next 16 years!) made sure that the closest ol’ Sal got was the newsprint on her hubby’s Style section writeups!
It was, frankly, astonishing to watch. A true testament of the power that Sarah Palin has generated. And, it’s only the beginning. Just wait and, once the ghost of Washington future visits they other mavens of the Beltway (and Manhattan and Hollywood), that “whooshing” sound you’re going to hear will be the road-to-Damascus, Lordy I’ve seen the light, conversions of multitudes of traditional leftys claiming they’ve always been FOS (Friends of Sarah)!!!
Like we’re seeing with the backlash to the media brown-shirts, nothing clears one’s mind faster than the threat of unemployment, shareholder revolts, cancelled subscriptions and bankruptcies!
Truly a joy to watch and, like I said, it’s only 1:30 into the first quarter!!!
Interesting that you saw that as SQ’s reasons for “seeing the light.”
Sarah Palin not only shakes up the old boy network, she shakes up the OLD GIRL network too.

It was the ONLY reason to explain it - certainly not a change in political philosophy or conscience. And, if you didn’t see it, ol’ Sal had to still maintain some street-cred with her homies - at the close of the interview, she still maintained that Sarah would have difficulty balancing her family’s needs with the “responsibilities”of the job.
But, doubtless, the die has been cast. The ghost of Washington future has started to gallop across the political and social landscape!

Some people are so incredibly organized that they can do it ALL. I believe Sarah Palin is one of those types. I'm not one of those types and am really crappy in organizing my time. I had planned to do a bunch of projects this afternoon and am already in procrastination mode. Right now all I want to do is take a nap.
Of all the manifold ways the Washington Post insults normal Americans on a daily basis, certainly the most outrageous has be in assigning Sally Quinn to be their authority on religious matters. This woman approaches evangelicals as if she were Jane Goodall trying to communicate with mountain gorrillas in the African uplands. She has absolutely zero understanding of what 90% of the religious people in this country are like, and yet she pontificates with authority on this subject from the pages of the Washington Post, week in and week out.
Now, like Peggy Noonan, she has overplayed her hand. Now she will try to come crawling back, saying nice things about us. This will last just as long as it takes for her natural feelings of superiority and entitlement to return, which should not be too very long.
