My friends wife is the lead attorney for a major environmental services company. She met Sarah Palin this summer at a reception in Alaska. The environmental services company does business in Alaska working with major oil companies. Sarah Palin told my friend’s wife that one oil company must clean up some damage to storage facilities or the oil company would not be doing any more business in Alaska. This delusion of the left that conservatives want to harm the environment is garbage. The left only knows obstruction. The environment must be balanced with development.

Oil and gas drilling. Palin has supported oil and gas drilling plans anywhere in Alaska, including in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the central Arctic, the entire Arctic Ocean, and in fish-rich Bristol Bay and Cook Inlet.

This is one heck of an endorsement.

We were talking today about regional implementation of projects under the CA Prop. 50 (water bond.) People had to ask for a time extension because the environmental review process for the projects was taking more than two years to complete - never mind actually building the darned things.

Anybody who can cut back burdensome regulation to a more sane level is fine in my book.
