(This post is for all...not targeting JMack) Its not just a case of a few “bad apples”. Across the country we are witnessing a significant increase in the number of incidents perpetrated by cops over issues that would have outraged the public only a generation ago. These days (as in this most recent example) we are seeing cops treating law-abiding citizens with little regard and denying them what used to be considered their fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution. The reason, I believe, is that the pool of candidates from which cops are chosen have very little understanding of their own American history and the ideals on which our nation was founded. No knowledge, hence, no appreciation or respect of the fundamental rights of citizens as guaranteed by the constitution. Case in point, most people that I question (law enforcement included) believe that our fundamental rights are *granted* by the constitution and that the constitution puts boundaries on the people. Whereas, the fact is that the rights of the people are endowed on us by our Creator and the constitution puts limits on government (not the people). That’s a very serious and significant distinction. The end result is that the overall culture of the law enforcement community is one in which its members see themselves and the people they are entrusted to serve in a light contrary to what was intended by the founding fathers. I know...I know...someone in law enforcement is going to respond by saying: “Not all cops or people in law enforcement is like that...my daddy served in the blah blah blah for 30 years...I’ve been in law enforcement for blah blah blah...all the cops I know are fine people and put their lives on the line...blah blah blah...” I know, I know. I’m not referring to those people. Their service is appreciated. But the fact is that the overall culture of the law enforcement community is becoming bolder and bolder and clearly has no fear of overstepping their bounds which indicates that their leaders are giving them the impression that such bold behavior will be tolerated and supported. We’d better wake up because the day is not far off when we will reach a ‘tipping point’ of sorts where you will in fact find law enforcement will be routinely used as the tool of our “elected” officials to do their evil bidding. We Americans are no less vulnerable to falling under the yoke of bondage that others [Russians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Venezuelans, etc.] have found themselves in recent history. These events in Denver are an ominous sign which must not be tolerated.
Reminds me of hillary's first run for senator in NY, when she marched in the Gay St. Patrick's Day Parade. When a TV cameraman tried to photograph her against a background of booing protesters, one of her goons knocked the cameraman down and destroyed the tape. The local TV station never reported that incident. They would rather eat their own than offend their fave politicians.
