That is because the law is written that way. There is no law that you have to prove your citizenship to run for office though in more and more states you can be required to prove your citizenship.
Obama = Mets fan :)
At this point I’d settle for him proving - with valid documents! - that he can legally work in these United States.
They make all of us, rich or poor, free or bond, prove that we have the proper paperwork to get a job.
An employer faces heavy fines if they fail to get proof of eligibility from a new employee.
WE employ our politicians.
No proof. No job.
The exact same standard they hold us to.
I hope that the fuss made now about O’Bama will get that into law, that candidates for office must prove their citizenship.
Yes!
Clintons are trying hard. Maybe it will work. Maybe Obeamer will lose at the convention and someone else entirely will get the nod. Maybe. The movie isn’t fun to watch if we know how it will end.
If Obama has a proper birth certificate, why didn't he present it long, long ago? If Factcheck has a COLB proving Obama was born in Hawaii, when will they let a third party look at it? If Obama became an Indonesian citizen by adoption, was that ever renounced -- or does he plan to do so before November 4th? And even if renounced, does that make Obama a re-"naturalized" citizen, not a "natural born" citizen? These and other questions need answers. If there are simple answers, let's hear / see them.
If a Dem asks these questions in federal court before the convention, any backlash by angry Obamites will be focused upon Hillary. If it falls to McCain supporters after the convention, the GOP will take the brunt of Obamites' wrath.
a “Thanx for the ping” bump!!!
He’s definitely eligible to lose the Presidential election in my book as well.
I think part of Berg’s complaint is that, if Obama’s mother was less than 18 when Barack was born, then she was not considered an adult, and hence unable to confer citizenship.
MUCH Thanks for sending the whole Enchilada.
She keeps creeping back from the grave like Michael Meyers.
I hate horror movies.
You’re very welcome.
