No burkas?
“When in Rome ...”
Kinda tough to ask them to respect our values and traditions without respecting theirs.
You’d think that they are all big girls and have traveled the world and would take big offense at being told how to dress by a shave tail like Osbama.
What’s a matter girls..?
Were they going with him to the Western Wall (I sure hope he wasn’t going)? Improperly dressed, disrespectful tourists aren’t welcome there.
You can’t be talking about Israel...people there dress like we do.
No green?? Al Gore and the rest of the enviro extremists must be mad!
Yes, you are right, but we ask respect, like we respect them, but i don’t see any Americans asking THEM to wear a cross, or remove their burkas, or make them wear a yamika...than why should we transform???
I think I just found a job that would be better left to the former President Clinton .
As to the media entourage...As far as I am concerned, I hope they keep Katie Couric covered up there and when she gets home. It'll do her good to have her realize women over there have been so oppressed that they can't flaunt their gams like she does.
Improperly dressed tourists are not welcome in St. Peter’s in Vatican City either. I saw the Swiss Guards turn away a man in shorts and a t-shirt. Luckily, the cruise ship had given us fair warning.
But they DON’T respect our culture OR religion even though we already don’t ask them to dress like barbie and paint their nails. If they want to live in the 12th century let them stay home.
We visited Israel in 1994 and they did spell out no shorts or tank tops for the guys and conservative clothing for the gals in our group. Everyone ended up needing a hat, scarf or hood b/c the guys had to wear something at Jewish sites adn teh women had to cover their heads in some of the churches. I don’t remember what the rules were for the Dome of the Rock, other than no shoes. DH refused to go in b/c they charged $7 per person and we’d have had to take off our shoes as if we were on holy ground. As if! I still get a chuckle out of that.
Obama’s rules sound a lot more conservative.
I didn't know the reporters worked for Obama, I thought they worked for various other companies. Shouldn't they be getting their directives from their own bosses instead of him?
There is a difference between a holy place and the general public.
Or they can pick up any tour guide on Jordan and find out what is apropos.
And then that A. Mitchell runs out there tarted up like a NY streetwalker...how embarrassing for him...?!?
One big difference here. That is a religious requirement, not a political or governmental requirement. It shows his dedication to the muslims.
There is Freedom...
and there is Obamunism.
