“And a recent poll showed that 48% of the American people still think the GOP controls Congress!”

We get the government we deserve.

Shout it from the roof tops and put it on billboards all over America. Time to wake up America while we can still wake up.

This is very hard to do, since congress/state-office candidates must rely on grass-roots pubs/dems as a source of volunteers. The volunteers that help a campaign are the most active, and probably also active in the local pub/dem committees.

Agreed, but there is a nice network of Ron Paul supporters out there in various Meetup groups. They are hardworking people too - PA was littered with Paul signs despite McCain having locked up the nomination. Perfect crowd for an outsider candidate to approach for support.

The MSM has been extremely successful at one thing, dumbing down America to a point of total destruction.

In their campaigns each and every Republican Congressional Candidate needs to “remind” the electorate at an appropriate time, an appropriate segues during statements or speeches just exactly whom it is that does control Congress, and since when that Congress became under their control. As well they need to stress facts about the economy directly linked to that ascension of “POWER”. They don't have to play "dirty" if they don't want to, just state truth, but do it repeatedly until the fact is recognized.

The GOP certainly has issues that they can run on and win this cycle...have to educate public on who controls congress...they already know how incompetent and how philosophically bad the liberals running Congress are....

It’s easy enough to nationalize a congressional campaign. It’s been done before and was the reason behind the GOP success in 94. Run against the “Washington establishment” and label your ten-term congressman opponent as part of the problem, regardless of what party he is from.

King George III's approval rating was higher than that in 1776.

LOL

Your statement tickles me and ticks me off at the same time.

Or;

Since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006 on promises of a better economy, lower fuel prices, more jobs, better schools, protected borders, and a peaceful end to the WOT based on diplomacy, how would you rate them on a scale of minus 100 to plus 100?

Just to point out how stupid congress is, right now on the Senate Floor they are debating the meaning of the Declaration of Independence while people are paying $4.11 average a gallon.
After 230+ years they haven’t figured it out yet they are beyond hope.

I received this last night in an email. This needs to be printed on billboards all over America:

June 27, 2008

Dear Friends, Family, and Associates:

The time has come for me to take some kind of action, so I can feel like I am making an effort to make our country better. What I am proposing has nothing to do with which political party I might support. It has nothing to do with which political party you might support. Both political parties have been doing a lousy job of taking care of THE PEOPLE’S business. No, it is worse than that, they have no interest in taking care of THE PEOPLE’S business, their only interest is to bash their opponent and make sure they keep their job.

Throw the rascals out!

As of June 12, 2008, only 18.7% of the Americans polled think the legislative branch of the US government is doing a good job. 75% of these Americans actually think the congress is doing a bad job. Only 16% of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction. 79.2% think we are moving in the wrong direction. This being the reality, it is time for us (WE, THE PEOPLE) to rise up and change things. We CAN help change the focus of our elected representatives and the direction of America.

Throw the RASCALS out!!

The one thing we can do to actively demonstrate to our elected officials that we are not going to accept the fact that they are not doing their job is to fire them. Let’s pull the flush handle in Washington and in our State Houses and replace every incumbent at all levels of government. It will take at least six years to get all the RASCALS in Washington, but we can do it.

THROW THE RASCALS OUT!!!

After the 2008 election, we will have sent a message to our elected officials: Do your job or you will be replaced. After the 2010 congressional election, there should be no doubt that WE, THE PEOPLE are serious about our elected officials focusing on doing THE PEOPLE’S business. They will find out that to keep their job, they’d better change their priorities because anything less will result in a replacement being elected.

THROW THE RASCALS OUT STARTING IN 2008!!!!

This effort will need to be a campaign by all American voters to vote based on one principle, and that’s to always vote against the incumbent. I repeat, always vote against the incumbent! For many of us, it will be hard to cross party lines, but it is the only tool we have to get the RASCALS replaced. It is the only tool we have to send the message that needs to be sent. It is time to fire ALL CAREER POLITICIANS at all levels of government. What’s broken in government is too many career politicians are running the show.

THROW THE RASCALS OUT STARTING IN 2008!!!!

From now on, the signature block on my personal e-mails will have the reminder “THROW THE RASCALS OUT” to remind me and anyone seeing it what we need to do. Like any other grass roots effort, this message needs to be passed along. If you agree this is a viable approach, please pass it along with your endorsement to your friends, family, and associates. This is our opportunity to make a real change in government and move America in the right direction.

In closing please, consider the following quotes from wiser men than I: H.L. Mencken on politicians: “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed, and hence clamorous to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”

Albert Einstein on human nature: “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.”

Edmond Burke on human nature: “The only thing it takes for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.”

Thank you and please join me to start changing American politics today.
