I had a suspicion as many of us probably had, that the talks where not frozen. The Iraqi are not stupid. They want us to stay for the most part despite the objections from people like Sadr. And they will risk continued resistance by the Mahdi army, since they can now ably handle the situation, then risk the US deciding to pull out.

"I mean, Iraq has been to hell many times and back. And now we have the right policies, the right personnel, and we have a committed government to accomplish its national agenda. "And the surge strategy has worked. I have just reported to the Security Council, a couple of days ago, that Iraq is witnessing the lowest level of violence and terrorist attacks." The Democrats' defeatism has been disproven and discredited!
