It’s early and alot of it is venting. It’s a bandwagon kind of thing that Dems play. Don’t let it get you down.

A choice between Victory against Islamic Terrorism or surrender to our terrorist enemy.
A choice between free market capitalist economy or socialism.
A choice between constructionist judges or liberal judges who legislate from the bench.
A choice between Life for the unborn or abortion on demand going wild.
A choice between lower taxes or higher taxes.
A choice between small government or big government.

All those are valid choices.

A choice between John McCain or Barack Obama.

That is not valid; there is no difference in the destination both will take America -- the only difference is the speed.

I choose to step on the gas -- in the hopes that it will wake up enough mediocre couch potatoes that their involvement does matter. If not, then lets hit the wall hard, and either break through or be destroyed in the process. I will work to break through.

Dearest, they don't have to raise taxes, the tax cuts EXPIRE on their own. McCain has said he will keep them, but Obama doesn't have to do a thing but LET them expire. How, pray tell, would Republicans fight that? Especially since if Obama wins, there will be like 190 left in the house and 39 in the Senate. The answer is, they won't.

I would rather have had Fred be the nominee, but I will absolutely support McCain over Obamarama.

I will not be responsible for that lying, racist, elitist, idiot, gaffe-a-minute POS being elected.

The wall is retiring. The kids with the Obama stickers never saw RR. It is a scary time. 2012 will be even scarier.

That is exactly how I feel. I go back and forth daily. I do know though, that I’m tired of settling and hoping for the best.

Dear jveritas,

Let's look at your assertions one by one:

“A choice between Victory against Islamic Terrorism or surrender to our terrorist enemy.”

Probably. But Sen. McCain has some goofy ideas vis-a-vis Guantanamo Bay, “torture,” etc. that might impede the war against Islamic terror.

“A choice between free market capitalist economy or socialism.”

I'd rephrase it, “A choice between more socialism from Sen. McCain, and even more socialism than that from Sen. Obama.”

“A choice between constructionist judges or liberal judges who legislate from the bench.”

Maybe. At one point, Sen. McCain criticized the appointment of Justice Alito.

Sen. McCain loves to get along with his Senate Democrat buddies. I fear we'll get some more Souters and Kennedys than more Roberts, Alitos, Scalias, and Thomases.

“A choice between Life for the unborn or abortion on demand going wild.”

Maybe. Doubtful. I don't perceive any burning desire on the part of Sen. McCain to really work hard for the unborn. I don't see him using the bully pulpit of the presidency for the cause. I don't see him championing pro-life legislation, as President GW Bush has.

And I'm not sure that he isn't squishy on Supreme Court nominees, in which case, Sen. McCain will be little better than Sen. Obama, and in some ways, worse.

“A choice between lower taxes or higher taxes.”

Maybe. He sounds good now, but his prior distaste for the Bush tax cuts makes me wonder whether he'll abandon them quickly, rather than fight for them, in the face of a difficult Democrat Congress.

“A choice between small government or big government.”

Possibly around the edges. I think he'll try to do something in earnest about earmarks. But he isn't a movement conservative, or a real small-government conservative. He doesn't have a thought-out personal philosophy of how the government should do less, and do it with less.

“A choice between John McCain or Barack Obama.”

Scary. A choice between a freedom-of-speech suppressing RINO and an outright communist.

“Let us choose John McCain. A Patriot, a war hero, and would be an excellent President.”

He is a patriot and a war hero, but I don't think that he will be an excellent president. Not by a very long shot.

However, I think it's likely that he'll be better than Snob-ama.

As long as he doesn't pick a pro-abort for the Vice Presidency, I will likely vote for Sen. McCain.

“God Bless America and our brave troops.”

Amen.

He supported them on the issue of privacy. One thing in common does not mean they are swapping spit in the shower. I support the ACLU postion on privacy. Have you actually read the patriot act? Its a constitutional abomination.

You like Bob Barr?

Here's Bob Barr on illegal immigration.

“McLame said, Mclame said. All talk and no action.”

If you REALLY believe that then you should vote for McCain.

Honest, fair and well-said. Bookmarked for later reference.

the tax cuts EXPIRE on their own. McCain has said he will keep them

I do not trust him. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words.

McCain was one of two Republican senators to vote against a $1.35 trillion tax cut that Bush proposed in 2001. McCain also voted against similar plans in 2003, as well as a proposed repeal of the federal estate tax. McCain said they disproportionately benefited the wealthy.

A choice between a guy who survived 5 1/2 years of torture by the North Vietnamese, and a guy who hangs out with William Ayres and Jeremiah Wright is a no-brainer, as far as I’m concerned.

Staying home is actually the better choice. It will speed things along both from the standpoint of ENDING liberalism for good and the restoration of common sense and conservatism, with or without the “repugnican” party. Both parties have helped ruin this nation, one through action, the other through inaction. They BOTH need to feel the wrath of our scorn and contempt.

OK...I'd rather have "Rainman" in office than Bar/ack Hussein Obambam. An idiot is better than a commie anyday. An idiot will just poop his pants and throw up in the foyer, but a commie will bring down the foundation of this country.

So, you pouters, go ahead and stay home and help Obama win, then later, you'll feel as stupid as I did when I voted for Ross Perot.

I have been one of John McCain’s earliest (dating from his 1982 run for John Rhode’s seat) and most consistent critics. I know the man’s qualities and his weaknesses. I don’t like him and I know he doesn’t like me. With that said, I can offer John McCain my unqualified and unreserved support in his run for the Presidency. He has the potential to make a great President.
