Man alive nearly 179 hours after quake How many minutes would that be?
Now who counts "nearly 179 hours"? Wouldn't it more natural to say "a week after" or "a little over a week after"?
(BTW, it's 10,740 minutes.)

I know they’re overwhelmed, but the casual way the TV reporters and officials are just writing off the still-tapping people down in the rubble is just unbelievable to me.

Yu was rescued. . . . Rescuers then turned to Ma and sent sweetened water to him through a straw. Yu-Ma arid zone, huh?

Seriesly, though, it’s good that people are being rescued.

Human has great inside power. There are more miracle story happened in this disaster, some made us weepy.
I remember a woman smash her leg with stone to get blood to drink and self-cut her leg to get out when the rescue team found her and couldn't reach her for narrow space. There are many such self-cut leg tragedy happened
Just heard a pregnant woman rescued alive after 180 hours and right in her way to hospital the baby was born safely.
And many many such miracle......

The earthquake has been corrected to 8.0 on the Richter scale the day before yesterday.
The disaster is huge.Thousands of aftershocks, the potential risky Yansai(transliterate) Lake and dams,if it continues to rain heavily, the lake, which formed due to the earthquake, may seep, which may be a large threaten to the people in backward position. While the specialists are inspecting on this every minute, and the people invloved are displaced accordingly.
Rescue work is still continuing, and the epidemic prevention is more important.
Aftershocks bring much trouble to more people.Last night, the citizens in Xi’an all stayed outside to avoid the possible 6-7 aftershock.
Almost every people in China has made much danation. The scene touched me most is a handicapped beggar donated all waht he has.
