Newt addressed this very issue at a book signing I attended recently. Although I beleive we don’t give the left an ich on this issue, he doesn’t either in his explanation.
What he is trying to do is to get into the discussion and not be on the sidelines shouting “no way”. By getting into the discussion, at least he will have a place at the table to represent his view of the science and the psuedo-science in a comparative arguement that will bring to light their dishonest agendas. (assuming the discussion will be a civil one, and history is not kind to that assumption)
